It doesn't make sense to recharge it from ICICI app. It's better to link rupay credit card to Amazon upi and recharge the fastag from Amazon app using upi without any charges.
I use HDFC PayZapp App to recharge FasTag, I can use credit card to recharge and it has no extra charges as of now and minimum recharge is always 500 unlike it was 100 when I was on PayTM. Credit Card UPI works too, without charges, netc.<vehicle-number>@icici

You can recharge it by rupay Credit card through by any upi app using netc.<vehicle.no.>@icici for any amount, no minimum amount required. No extra charge as well.

For trial, I just now recharge it with Rs.20 by my HDFC Rupay CC through paytm.

I see below answers in Amazon Pay ICICI FASTag FAQ:

Quote:
1. What is the Amazon Pay ICICI Bank FASTag?

The Amazon Pay ICICI Bank FASTag is a co-branded FASTag in association with Amazon Pay and ICICI Bank. This FASTag will be linked to the customers Amazon Pay Balance account and all FASTag payments will be charged to the customers Amazon Pay Balance account.
...
2. How can I recharge my Amazon Pay ICICI Bank FASTag?

In order to recharge Amazon Pay ICICI Bank FASTag, you just need to add money to your Amazon Pay Balance, since the FASTag will be using the Amazon Pay balance to pay all FASTag charges.
In order to add money to Amazon pay balance:
a) Go to Amazon pay homepage
b) Clicking on your ‘Amazon Pay Balance’ section
c) Click on ‘Add money to wallet’
You can also add money to Amazon Pay Balance from the Amazon Pay FASTag page by clicking on ‘Add money’ on your FASTag card.
Did anyone use Amazon Pay ICICI Bank FASTag for toll payment to confirm where from deduction is happening?

Re: Who is your preferred FASTag provider?

I am using both ICICI and BOB Fastag. I find that I am getting the messages of amount getting credited and debited promptly from BOB and am quite happy with it whereas ICICI is erratic: sometimes I get the messages and sometimes I don't.

Does anyone see this problem with ICICI Fastag?

I started using ICICI FASTag recently. I too face this issue for Toll deduction. Though I don't get the SMS, the debit transactions get updated instantaneously in the eToll ICICI app.

Re: Who is your preferred FASTag provider?

Anybody got a new Amazon Pay ICICI fastag and used it in the last one month or so? Would like to know if the amount gets deducted from amazon pay balance as they claim?

The ICICI customer care folks on call were clueless on this.

Amount gets deducted from ICICI wallet, not Amazon Pay. Also, your recharge goes to ICICI FasTag Wallet.

So Amazon is just taking us for a ride with all these false claims, din't expect this from Amazon!

I just got one of my Fastag and feel cheated, will hold off ordering other fastags from Amazon Pay.

Why don't you people use UPI apps like Google Pay or PhonePe? They show you the current balance for convenience, the minimum recharge balance is flexible (that is, it depends on your Fastag provider), they don't charge any convenience fees, integration requires adding only the vehicle number without any further info or registration and you can use credit card/debit card/netc or just search your Fastag service provider's name and integrate it. Unfortunately, you can't recharge arbitrary, small amounts like 20 rupees since GPay, for example, is not a wallet system.

This just got confirmed - used the fastag yesterday and the money got deducted from fastag balance and not the Amazon pay balance! Spoke to more than 20 folks at both ICIC and Amazon and nobody has the slightest of clue on this with ICICI being the worst in terms of quality of support!

Re: Who is your preferred FASTag provider?

Voted for SBI Fastag - It may sound crazy - but as most of you - i would refrain from Govt banks - however it happened when i got my N Line last year and had to cross a toll on day 1 of delivery. Had no option, so took fastag from local guys in Manesar toll plaza and i was initially not happy that they had only SBI as an option. However its been 6 months using this and its a seamless experience everytime - instant recharge and deduction messages.

That's a good suggestion. Just now tried on Google Pay and it shows balance. Very useful.

It needs Rs.500 minimum recharge for ICICI Fastag. UPI (netc) through any app has no minimum recharge.

As mentioned earlier by me

However, the FAQ on the Amazon website says it should work the same as Paytm—just load money into the Amazon Pay wallet, and it should directly debit for Fastag. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be the case, as Amazon is not a bank. This functionality should only work with Paytm and now Airtel.
Deductions from the Amazon Pay wallet will not happen, but there is uncertainty as to why there has been no confirmation from Amazon or ICICI. I think they are yet to identify the mistake mentioned on the FAQ page of Amazon.

Re: Who is your preferred FASTag provider?

I have been using ICICI Fast Tag. It’s not the problem. Poor scanners, deliberate double charging, sometimes purely wrong charges at toll booths is the problem.
Other than that wasting sometimes 3-5 minutes at one toll booth because scanner is faulty.
It’s a mockery of the word Fast
They are totally ignorant on how it should be done.
