Mr. Gaurav Siddharth got himself a Guinness World Records for travelling the longest distance within a country on a motorcycle.
He covered almost 1.22 lakh kilometers, out of which, Guinness approved 1,15,094 kilometers due to repetition of routes on some places. The ride took him through 450 major cities of India, covering 29 states and 5 union territories during the ride. He was not allowed to stay for more than 2 days at one place to get his record verified by the agency.

The bike used was a 150cc Hero Impulse.

The is an excellent example that shows that it takes more than what bike you're riding, to be a good rider. The Hero Impulse is a wannabe dirt bike with a puny 150cc mill, offering average support and comfort for the rider.

This proves it takes enthusiasm ,will-power, a decent capable average cc bike and a standard safety gear more than an expensive gizmo laden bike to munch long distance miles.

You are absolutely correct. When I read the article, I was not much surprised with the kilometres, but shocked when I read Impulse.
It's the riders dedication to achieve.

. I feel this kind of dedication to achieve something is more mature and focused than those trying to achieve specific kilometres in a short span of time (24 hours, 48 hours etc. )
