You can use Pipaliya - Julmi - Suket Road to connect to NH-52.

Re: Delhi-Mumbai expressway to reduce travel time by 12 hours

Used the DME on the trip from Delhi to Mhow and back.

The stretch from Lalsot to Kustala exit is open but with no facilities and toll not being collected.

I remembered someone mention about the MacDonalds outlet at https://maps.app.goo.gl/L9LL1R7PRUUtrXfi9

The outlet is well located. The customers can order on the terminals by themselves but the backend preparation services is not being able to catch up with that leading to longer wait time. Hopefully they will improve. Till then can give a miss if one is short on time.

Details of the trip updated in https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/route...ml#post5750191 (Delhi to Indore : via Jaipur or Agra?)

Re: Delhi-Mumbai expressway to reduce travel time by 12 hours

Not sure what NHAI and Highway ministry's approach on opening of new stretches of the DME is. From youtube videos, it appears that most sections from Lalsot to Gopalpura interchange (Kota) and Chechat to Surat appear to have been near ready for 2-3 months now and yet there seems no urgency to complete work and officialy open it (properly and not like connectivity from Lalsot to Sawai Madhopur where one has to get off at the interchange and then get back to the Expressway in a km or so). Anyone with inside info know why this lethargy.

Re: Delhi-Mumbai expressway to reduce travel time by 12 hours

Hi Friends,
I am planning to return back to Bangalore from Noida starting on April 19th early morning. Initially I had taken BLR->HYD-> Nagpur-> Jhansi-> Gwalior-> Noida route and I am not comfortable driving from Nagpur onwards. Hence have some apprehensions taking this route again for me return journey. Also, considering Nagpur will go on vote on this day.

I am considering the below options and need your advice on this;
Day 1) Noida-> Faridabad-> NE4 Expressway-> Kota-> Indore-> Dhule (Night Halt)
Day 2) Dhule-> Aurangabad-> Beed-> Solapur-> Vijaypura-> Chitradurga-> BLR
or
Dhule-> Aurangabad-> Beed-> Solapur-> Vijaypura-> Hubli (Night halt at in-laws place)
or
Dhule-> Pune-> Satara-> Kolhapur-> Belgavi- Hubli(Night halt at in-laws place)

How will be the weather as well as road conditions on the above mentioned when compared to NH44?
I will be undertaking this journey along with my wife and pet dog. I might be calling my friend from BLR to join me so he can drive as well.

Is it necessary that you need to reach Bangalore on the second day? If you have one more day, then Indore and Solapur would be good options for halts.

How long are you planning to drive in a day? Noida to Dhule will easily take more than 18 hours. You may consider Indore for the first day halt. You will be able to reach Indore in 13 hrs with stops through the NE4 (DME) and Indore will have halt options for pet friendly places.

Re: Delhi-Mumbai expressway to reduce travel time by 12 hours

Hi all, I am planning to travel from Jaipur to Bhopal in the month of May. Can I use DME for my travel? Google Maps recommends NH52 through Kota, Jhalawar etc.

Thanks

I had the exact question as Bimal. It would take 2 aggressive days of driving (18-20 hour types) to reach Bangalore at the end of day 2.

If you are getting to Kota, there are 2 routes:

Kota-Aklera-Biaora-Bhopal-Betul-Nagpur
Kota-Jhalawar-Bhanapura-DME-Ratlam-Lebad-Manpur-Dhamnod-Dhule

Till Bhopal have described below. After Bhopal, things are good till Bhimbetka after which there are 10-15 km of terrible WIP roads. All towns are bypassed as of Xmas, there are another 10 km off of 2-lane roads at a ghat section before Betul. Remaining roads are 4-laned.

There is no DME inbetween. It is Jaipur-Kota-Bundi-Jhalawar-Aklera-Biaora-Bhopal.

Jaipur-Aklera is fantastic 4-lane
Aklera-Biaora is wide 2-lane with towns inbetween.
Biaora-Bhopal is bumpy 4-lane.

Should roughly take 8-9 hours. I had done this in sections with Garadia Mahadev and a night stay thrown in

Nothing like that. Since, I will have my friend, thought of stretching a bit and completing this journey in two days.
Now, after consideration, I have decided to take one more halt at my in-laws place at Hubli.

Sir, I did Bangalore to Nagpur in Dec 2023 myself, so no issues with driving for long hours. However, my friend would join me for this leg and we both will share our driving. So, I have decided to extend this journey by another 1 day.

As far as the proposed route for Day 1 is considered I did this route on 05th April from New Delhi (India Gate) to Ujjain. It was a solo drive. I started at 4AM and reached Ujjain at 3 PM.

Route I took was NE4 till Sawai Madhopur, thereafter NH552-NH148D-NH52-NH148N-NH552G till Ujjain as per Google Maps. Roads were good and traffic was sparse most of the way.

Next day I started at 9AM from Ujjain and headed to Mumbai via Dhule. Ujjain - Indore roads are under construction around the Super Corridor road and so it may be better take the Google recommended NH52 around Indore than NH47, which I took. Roads beyond Indore to Dhule are generally good and scenic in some parts. I passed Dhule around 3PM.

Day time temperature was upto 40C, it would be hotter by 19 April.

Couple of questions on the route:

Which option is better in terms of road conditions to connect to NH52?

Hi, thanks for your detailed update. I too am planning to travel from Vadodara to Delhi in May first week. However, Google Maps shows a total time close to 16 hours to reach Delhi while you mentioned around 14 hours. Does your time include breaks as well? Any chance this can be covered in 13 hours?

Thanks.

The SH that connects to Udpura isn’t recommended although suggested by google. The other option via Pipaliya - Suket has been recommended by @Rahkehs in an earlier post.

I took the Kota bypass via Bundi NH52-NH148D-NH552-NE4 entry before Sawai Madhopur. That is the 12h 25m alternate route in above map. The roads were good and traffic sparse. This route gets you to NE4 at Kusthala Toll which is a good 65 km ahead of Lalsot entry point.
