I'm travelling to Panchgani next weekend. I hope these wrinkles are ironed out by then.
Drove on Mumbai--Pune Expressway yesterday. It was a seamless experience with Fastag at both Khalapur and Talegaon toll plazas but there was no deduction of amount at Talegaon plaza ( Rs. 57/-)

Further on between Pune and Belgaum, Fastag worked very well as always at all the 6 tolls.

Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

Did my maiden run with the ICICI FasTag this morning.
Worked flawlessly at Khalapur & Talegaon tolls on both ways.
Amount debited Rs 173 + Rs 57 at Khalapur & Talegaon.
SMS & Email about debits were received after a while.

At Khalapur, on both ways, only two gates were FasTag enabled, so you have to lookout for FasTag signage above the toll gates to enter the proper lane.
A bit of traffic at Khalapur on both ways. But the tag worked seemlessly.

Our Honda City just did a jalandhar trip and back. Fastag worked fine all the way. Received all transactions on paytm app within few minutes of crossing.

Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

Can any recent travelers confirm if FASTag is active on NICE Rd in Blore?

A few weeks ago I heard some people on this thread say it is imminent in a few weeks, hence the question.

I need to travel today, and am wondering if I should use my FASTag.

Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

Made a Friday-Saturday trip to Palakkad and back.

Fastag worked at all tolls flawlessly during onward journey. The Paliiyekkara (Walayar) toll folks used a handheld device to scan.

During return journey, tag worked at all tolls, though handheld scanner was used at 3 tolls, don't remember which specific ones.

All tolls now have signage for Cash and Fastag lanes.
Attibele has Fastag lanes on left and Cash lanes on right (heading out of Bangalore) and the other way in the return direction!

At all other tolls, Fastag lanes are on right and Cash lanes on left.

Even L&T bypass now has Fastag, but it still is a pain to cross.

Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

Had to do a sudden trip to Chennai yesterday night. First highway trip since the lanes were mandatory. The fastag lanes have made it very smooth except for Pallikonda and Vaniyambadi where for some reason they have divided the 2 lanes into cash and fastag more than a km ahead of the toll. Painful to be stuck behind a slow truck for no reason although it is only for a minute or so.

At Pallikonda they had to use a manual scanner, but may be my mistake because I entered an empty lane at the extreme left since the other lanes had a couple of vehicles in them. Could have missed some board saying not working.

However I do miss the earlier setup where there used to be 2 barriers. Felt it was much faster.

Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

Tried my SBI Fastag on Tiago for the first time over weekend to go to Mantralayam from Bangalore. It gave a very smooth and nice experience at all toll gates. Amazingly near Mantralayam the toll was Rs. 40/- one way and Rs. 55/- for return trip on same day. It deducted Rs. 40/- during onward journey. We returned after a few hours and it deducted Rs. 15/- at the time of return. Nice to see the return toll system is indeed working as expected.
Only downside is the delay in SMS after money deduction from your account. I got the SMS' well after a couple of hours.

So finally,we started getting some good reviews on the Fastag systems. Any new tech (literally 5 years old?) is going to take some time for it to settle and also for us to get accustomed. Hope the system gets more matured and we get to see a fully automatic, less manual intervention toll plazas.

Now the govt and NHAI has to focus on maintaining the roads with the collected funds.

Confused. If you went till Palakkad only, you did not cross Paliyekkara. It is after Trichur by pass, if travelling from Palakkad side. Walayar is the Kerala - TN border.

Unfortunately, I'm not sure of the road after Trichur - bit since I travelled that route. Not after the tolls started.

Oops, my bad, that should be Pampampallam (Walayar). I did not go beyond Alathur.

Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

Planning to sell my car, and wallet in HDFC bank have close to Rs 3000/- balance. What the process to get back this and de-link tag from my faatag account?

Most of the FAQ in bank sites do not contain information on what to do with fasttag when ownership changes. Selling to dealer hense no idea where the tag end up.

On ICICI Bank & Bank of Baroda, on the respective FastTag portal, users can login to their accounts, navigate to Customer service and put-in a request for deactivation of Fastag.

After a waiting period of 45 days, for any unsettled claims from Toll Boots I think, the amount gets credited back to your bank account.

I think it must the same for HDFC FastTag

Don't worry, the deduction will happen sometime any day, else you will receive a dispute message from the toll end and then the deduction will happen 3 days after that.

The guys have started streamlining the process quite well I would say.

Is it possible to change the registered vehicle number to a Tag to another?

Also what happens is I use the tag of another vehicle? Like my home car Tag on my office car?
