Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

This has been happening with me when the car is parked in basement.
Looks like krishnagiri toll plazza has become a scam center.

I have now requested for closing my FASTag and refund of money.
Let's see how long it takes to get my money.

For anyone using the tag, it is better to keep charging for precise amount in FASTag so that post journey there is less than 10Rs balance in your account.

Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

I just checked my FASTag account today and to see that I got a cash back for the period between 1st and 31st Aug 2016 credited on 16th Sep 2016 . However, I had used it in July 2016 as well and I do not see any cash back credit for July. I guess it is a monthly process, not sure though.

Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

At last I have got the FASTag, whole process took me 20 days

Here is the whole story in brief:
1. Sent an SMS to ICICI (ITOLL(Space)Pincode(Space)Name to 5676766) on 16-09-2016
2. Got a call next day from ICICI FASTag team (Ms. Kalyani) and submitted filled application with required proof's on 17-09-2016 to Mr. Sandeep Shetty(9036620472)
3. Got confirmation from ICICI very next day and ID has been created a day after.
4. Nothing happened between 20-09-2016 to 03-10-2016, I have followed up twice but of no use. Mr. Sandeep has been promising he will come next day every time.
5. Finally I have got my tag Today.

Observation on recharge: Net banking charges are very high compared to credit card charges, something like 15/- vs 2.5/-. Better to use credit card for recharge.

Thanks for fee structure. This clears air for me.
I have tried recharge using ICICI Netbanking and Credit card. Please find the below screen shot.
Bottom line: Don't use ICICI and Axis Netbanking for FASTag recharge of small amounts say 200/-

Not always. ICICI/AXIS has 13 as fixed amount for any recharge amount. For eg., if the recharge amount is 10000, then using CC, we have to pay 110 as convenience fee, but ICICI/AXIS its only 13.

You are right, so lets change the bottom line to "Have a look at the convenience fee chart before you recharge and choose the right payment method based on the amount"

Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

If you are recharging more than 1200Rs, use NEFT for a flat rate, any lesser amount use CC.

Yes, the last time I recharged for Rs.1000, used the credit card and the total charges including cesses was Rs.12.65

Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

Since I do not want to stick anything to my windscreen:
1. Stuck the fastag to the cling wrap.
2. Tore an empty sleeve from a 4*6 photo album
3. Cut black chart paper to fit inside the sleeve
4. Attached the fastag to the chart paper via a small 2 way tape

Wondering if I can simply place this on the dashboard, rather than have it hang from the sun visor. My OEM tag is in the middle, so can't have it there.

Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

Today I was doing some random checks on the last few transactions and came across the below double deductions,

Kozhinjiipatti Toll Plaza:
I crossed this toll towards Didigul and within 10 minutes they have charged me for return journey as well in the same direction

FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!-samyanallur.gif

Krishnagiri Toll Plaza:
Here it is a proper double deduction in space of 20 minutes.

FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!-krishnagiri-toll.gif

I have opened a ticket with ICICI and planning to send an email to NHAI as well.

So, its better to keep an eye on the transactions after every trip.

Re: FASTag: All you need to know about procuring & using it!

Made a quick Bangalore->Palakkad->Bangalore trip during Monday & Tuesday. The good news was that FasTag worked at all toll booths, except the L&T bye pass at Coimbatore. At times I also got the devious pleasure of bye passing long queues of vehicles at Krishnagiri & Thoppur tolls . Others were like - "there goes another VIP vehicle"

Bangalore Airport to City Fastag lane

It appears that the RFID tag installed by the car OEM is interfering with the Fastag tag. I removed the OEM tag and it worked.
The automatic gate on the Bangalore Airport to City lane has stopped working for me for the last week. Currently fastag is being read manually.

Anyone else having a similar problem.

Works on and off for me. I usually try a second time by exiting via the right-hand side and go around again. It DOES work sometimes that way.
