I think overtaking on the left lane has to be done with utmost care, especially at night. This time the stones became visible as I was making my move back to the middle lane, so all I had to do was swerve just a little more. But it could so easily have turned into a disaster. I cannot imagine the stupidity of those who would place stones on the Expressway in order to warn vehicles -- at high speeds and especially at night you can't see the stones until it is almost too late. The only way to stamp out this practice is via regular police patrols and severe punishment for those caught doing it.
