Hey Thanks. I just tried to browse through their website but it seems no links are working in that site for me in IE & Chrome. Not sure if its just me having the problem to read through their products.

Re: Government launches 'FASTag' - Electronic Toll Collection

FASTag Enabled Toll Plaza - Update:

Route: Bangalore to Coimbatore
Toll Plaza: Thoppur/Dharmapuri L&T
Now, this toll plaza has working FASTag lane enabled both ways. Earlier, this toll plaza was not accepting FASTag and wasn't even listed in NHAI's FASTag enabled tolls. Security guards maintain the lane entrances. Only ETC/FASTag vehicles are allowed in these lanes. But, the auto-scan process is not smooth yet in both lanes. FASTag is detected only when we drive our vehicle much closer to the automatic boom barrier. I was waiting in the lane assuming that the tag is not recognized but the attendant asked me to move the vehicle closer to the boom barrier.
Toll Plaza: Krishnagiri
No amount deducted so far in my FASTag account from this toll. I have passed this toll with FASTag close to ten times already.

You're right. It is still in beta hence no links are working nor is it linked to the Axis Bank main site as far as I could see. I came across it by chance from the Indian Highway Management Company Limited site (http://www.ihmcl.com/)

IHMCL is an interesting PPP where MoRTH has tied up with Axis Bank, L&T Oriental (OSE) and GMR (maong others) to facilitate ETC, automated traffic surveys and other complementary projects across India.

Good to see these happening albeit slowly.

Re: Government launches 'FASTag' - Electronic Toll Collection

Last night, while returning home from the Bangalore airport, I entered the dedicated FASTag lane number 2, flashing my XUV 500's headlights. But, I was directed to go to the adjacent lane through the exit before the closed boom. So, I entered the adjacent common lane and waited in the queue. When my turn came, an attendant, holding a hand-held scanner, came near the vehicle and scanned the FASTag, checked it and shouted 'online' to the toll-collector inside the counter, who entered the same in his system. I asked him whether it was scanned. He replied in affirmative and showed me the hand-held unit. I saw my FASTag details on the screen and drove out of the toll plaza. But, I didn't receive any sms. I told my wife that we had a free ride again!

Today, when I checked my FASTag account, I was surprised to note that although my FASTag was scanned, the toll ₹ 120 was not deducted. On the earlier occasions at Krishnagiri, the hand-held units did not detect my FASTag and no toll was deducted. But, Devanahalli toll plaza's case is different: detected, but not deducted!

My free rides so far include twice at Attibele, twice at Krishnagiri and once at Devanahalli - some incentive for FASTag customers!

Re: Government launches 'FASTag' - Electronic Toll Collection

Some specific queries:

1. Which banks issue the Fastags. If I am with a different bank then how do I get the tag.

2. for customers of 'non Fastag' handling banks how do we recharge?

3. What is the validity of a charge?

Re: Government launches 'FASTag' - Electronic Toll Collection

Is it possible to get FASTag without RC for a new car by just using registration number?

1.Currently only ICICI Bank, you do not need an ICICI bank account to get the Tag since you can issue a cheque from any bank to have the Fastag account opened. Check the ICICI Fastag website for more details.

2.Can be recharged online, again any bank account will do (from where you can transfer the money online). There are transaction charges for this and will have to be paid even if you transferred online from an ICICI account . Check the ICICI Fastag website for more details.

3.IMHO there is no validity per se for the charge. It is valid as long as you have the account. The account is tied to your vehicle registration meaning one per vehicle.

A copy of the RC is necessary when submitting the Fastag application/account opening form.

Re: Government launches 'FASTag' - Electronic Toll Collection

Just a few minutes ago, I received an sms stating that I got a cash-back credit of ₹ 31 for the tolls paid during 1-31 May 2016. First time, I got a cash-back as I didn't pay any toll during April 2016.

Re: Government launches 'FASTag' - Electronic Toll Collection

Update -
Today, I made a quick Bangalore-Salem-Bangalore trip. All tolls now have Fastag enabled. I was not charged at Krishnagiri toll due to some on going work. The display at the toll gate said Vehicle Exempted. 69 bucks saved here. During return, Attibele toll didnt charge me. Not sure why.

But, i was charged 2 single trip toll amount at Thoppur toll even though the return was on same day. I have created a service ticket for that. This is 4th ticket with ICICI. These guys take their sweet time to work on the issue tickets. Last time it took 3 weeks to resolve and refund the amount. At times, the money spent in calls with them to get the issue resolved is more than the amount in dispute. Frustrating!!!

Anyways, "That moment when you pass through the crowded toll plaza like a VIP in Fastag lane while other cars waiting in long queue and seeing you....Priceless "

I agree. One or two toll plaza's in this stretch are still in the earily set up stage. Hence no deduction

However, i did not know that fastag is expected to calculate the In/Out of a vehicle within 24 hours & charge accordingly. I recently did few one day trips and did not get the benefit of the 24 hours ticket fare. Looks like a flaw in the system.

I have got this 24 hours benefit in the past when passing through ETC lane. So, ideally this should work. Looks like there is a bug in their system.

I raised a ticket with ICICI fastag few minutes back & got a call from the fastag team now - too fast

The guy mentioned that i got discounts in Omalur, Kaniyur & vaiguntham tolls, which i can see though . However, when i asked about why i did not get the discount in the other tolls, he said that L & T tolls do not provide this 24 hours benefit for fastag customers now & they are working on to fix this issue - Do not know when this will happen.

Re: Government launches 'FASTag' - Electronic Toll Collection

Anyone got the fastag recently? I've been trying to get, but so far they were not showing any interest. Last Monday I sent a message to 5676766 or so. Also called their customer support as well. Then from tuesday I called Nagesh Bommanahalli ICICI couple of times and all these attempts, only response I got was, someone will be in touch with me shortly.

As I commuting daily from Hosur, tomorrow I'm thinking to try BETL RFID tags. Anyone has experience of this? Do they give 10% discount as well?

I got my FasTag yesterday. Poor service from ICICI. They took almost 25 days to deliver my Tag.

As a bonus, I got a free ride at Devanahalli Toll today When I entered the FasTag lane, I was directed to the adjacent one where they tried to scan the Tag with a handheld scanner. They could not get any reading even after several tries. I was permitted to leave without any payments.

Re: Government launches 'FASTag' - Electronic Toll Collection

Anyone on Pune got their car Fast Tagged?

Esp from ICICI branch on Bhandarkar Road?
ICICI BANK LTD. DSMG OFFICE, SUMA HOUSE, 870 / 1,BHANDARKAR ROAD,PUNE -411005

Who will come at "attach" the chip to the windscreen?

I want to use it on MPEW. I see the ETC lane is marked but everyone enters that lane and pays by cash (I too have done it)

Any idea if ETC works on Talegaon and Lonavala toll nakas on old NH4? I have not seen a ETC lane. I am OK if they just collect the toll by manually scanning the RFID. I always carry lots of change, but there are days when I forget and then invariable get into an argument if I am handed over candies as change.
