Finally he paid 100 and went on his way.

Was it parked in "the way" causing traffic obstruction like not in a straight line ?

I got a ticket now on East end circle Signal. I did not know a U-turn was not allowed there, got caught and paid fine.
They searched for my car offence detail on blackberry and could not found any. I was given ticket by blackberry.

Now my question, did they put this offence in their database using blackberry, or is it just they print the ticket using blackberry. I always try to maintain driving discipline and do not feel good if there is an offence stored against my name.

Guys who really know how this stuff works, waiting for your reply.

There is an online payment facility for paying RTO fines in bangalore. Isnt it? If I remember there was a link which was posted wherein you could go and check all fines against your vehicle and also pay them online.

Anybody has that link handy?

You can pay the fine online at bangaloreone. I think you need to create an id for that. After that you can search by your car registration number or challan number. Remember it caches your search, so after each search you need to clear you cookies or close and restart your browser.

Alternately you can go to any of bangalore one center and pay there directly. You might need your driving license for this.

I received a similar red light jumping ticket at home (this was not intentional), which my wife paid at bangalore one center.

I have yet to see anyone being wrongly pulled up or fined by the traffic police in Mumbai. The cops may discriminate, i.e. punish one offender but let go of another one, but they seem to always catch you when you are at fault. So I am thinking the alternate side parking may have caused some confusion.

In any case, if you are going to park and leave your car on the road for whatever reason, take half a minute to click its photos as parked. Make sure you cover enough of the surrounding area so that any traffic or parking signs nearby can also be captured.

If the place where you parked the car was marked as a no parking area, or if there's alternate side parking based on odd/even dates, the traffic cops must put up a board at the place which tells this to all motorists. If you can prove there was no such board indicating parking was prohibited in that place, you may be able to win a case in the court.

Got the infamous Parking Violation tag, right outside Mallya Hospital...was gone in for like 10-12 mins and come back and see this stuck on the windshield.

Paid Rs 102 (100 +2) online on bangaloretrafficpolice.gov.in as the tag clearly mentioned it had to be paid "within 24 hrs failing which legal process will follow"

Now on my next visit to Mallya, am not sure where to park my car :(

Right opposite the Cosmos mall in Whitefield one can see a traffic cop sticking parking tickets on the cars parked on the road. I once avoided getting one, as we wanted to visit the baby shops opened there but right in the nick of time I saw the cop writing the tickets and I drove to the road on the back and parked htere.

Parking is such a nightmare in Bangalore these days! There are shops everywhere and no parking and people are forced to park on roads only. Only solution is malls but you cant buy everything in the malls. why does the city administration allow construction of shops when there is no proper parking provision!!!

In addition to Bangaloreone, you can also pay the fine with any sub-inspector who you see on the roads monitoring traffic. Give him your car number and he will get the details on his BB and he will issue you a receipt once you pay the fine.

I have paid for 300 bucks no fault of mine. I parked exactly under the Parking sign and my vehicle got towed away :Frustrati.

Another instance, got ticked for parking on the other side of the road. Cop tries to tow it, I reach just in time and ask him why is my vehicle being towed?

Cop: Parking on other side of the road today.

Me: Show me where it is written

Cop gesturing to a board : There

Me: Its written parking on 1,3,5,7 days. Can you tell me on which day the week begins? Sunday or Monday?

Cop lets me go!

Now a serious Q to you guys, the 1 is Sunday or Monday:confused:

I think it is the date rather than day of week.

1,3,5,7 etc indicate the date of the month, not day of the week.

I think this is pretty cool and other cities should follow this method. Better off than clamping and tow trucks too. It saves operating expenditure for the traffic cops and is more efficient when it comes to collection of fines. Removes opportunity for bribes.
If only, they start this out in Mumbai...

This is quite common in Pune. This means on odd dates, this side of the road will be used for parking. Whereas on even dates (2,4,6,8..), other side will be used as parking.

Looks like the cop took mercy on you and let you off :).

***! :Shockked:

We hardly got parking space and I got ticket for parking at a safe place.

I had parked right under P sign. Man i have no time to argue with these people!

The ticket states that they want me to pay the fine at Indranagar Police Station or else I will get a notice at home etc.

Anyone BLRians experienced this before?

It looks like they have modernized interms of issuing parking tickets - but no word on educating people how to drive.

Several possibilities depending on which side of cmh you parked. after 100 ft road, going down from KFC junction, then its possible they have alternate parking sides OR
It is quite possible you parked under a motorcycle parking area. I have seen them issue a ticket for that.
The side on the Fabindia side of CMH doesnt have alternate parking days. There is designated parking spots and it is actually one of the few roads which has parking all along.

I suggest you take a picture of your car parked where it was, as proof and then go to the cop shop and figure out why. :)
Once you move the car, they can argue that it wasnt where you had parked it.
