The link roads weren't this bad when I did in Jan. It was a bit offroad worthy, but autos were able to do them.

How much did the taxi charge for the day? Tiruchendur temple opens before 4pm?

This bad stretch is between 'Then Thiruperai' and 'Perungulam'.

Thiruchendur temple was open at about 1530 - heard that it will always remain open in the afternoons.

I also went to Kanyakumari the next day in the same taxi; and also for local tour within Tirunelveli - the total fare for the taxi for two days was around 4K.

@templehof, can you please pass on the contact info of cab in Tirunelveli. I tried some cabbies but they are quoting much more than what you have posted. I plan to do a short trip in a couple of weeks and want to cover the 11 divya desams plus Tiruchendur murugan temple.

The taxi I took is the one provided by the travel desk of Hotel AppleTTree, Tirunelveli.

I don't have the number readily with me. I'll post it if I find it.

I visited the Nava Tirupathi in December 2012. The roads werent that bad as it were in the August 2012 pics posted here. Expect some bad patches though as you go into villages to get to a few of these temples. Please note that I had rented a car as I flew into Tuticorin.

Just bumped into this thread. Lot of useful information.

I am attempting an humble trip to all divya desams, if god permits.

Earlier this month (July 2015) i finished all divya desams in Kanchipuram and also visited Tiruvallur Veera Raghava perumal temple and then went to Madras to my home.

End of this month, planning to cover below divya desams down south.

Thiruthangal
Nava thirupathi divya desams
Nanguneri and Thirukurungudi
Nagercoil
Thiruvattaru
Madurai
