Please note the road quality review is on a 2022 Crysta with 16 inch alloys which have 65 profile tyres and tyre pressures set at 33 psi and one driver in the car.

.......
I have done a few trips to Mumbai in last 3 weeks in my Safari XZA+ and been wanting to check if it's just my car because of it's stiffer suspension and 18 inchers with thinner sidewalls or is this highway surface really pathetic. And here I see @humyum has said everything that i wanted to say about this expressway. That too when he was driving an Innova with 65 profile tyres.

320 bucks for this 90 km of pathetic surface (barring few sections) is a loot. If you are caught in a jam, you lose any advantage you would have over the old highway which has a great tar surface in its favour. There is one section where they have tarred the surface for a kilometer long section - it was butter smooth. I hope someday the whole concrete road is a resurfaced with tar. Until then, happy Rock n Roll over this bouncy road called expressway.

Re: Review of the Yashwantrao Chavan Expressway (Mumbai-Pune)

As per recent news, the Maharashtra government has decided to put the expansion of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on the backburner, due to paucity of funds. Seems the government wants utilise funds for improving infra in other parts of the state.

Thank God !! I am seriously so relieved to learn this. Current 6 lanes is more than enough for Mumbai--Pune expressway. Hoping they just finish that much awaited Missing link by next 6-8 months. I am totally frustrated with these endless road construction works in Mumbai metropolis , Pune or whole of Maharashtra for that matter. Sometimes all of this seems like a big scam to me. The moment you heave a sigh of relief when a new flyover or road widening gets over, there is another section on the same stretch which is being dug up for some new project. There are plenty of examples within Mumbai. For example, new additional ROBs near Turbhe, Navi Mumbai on the Sion--Panvel highway were thrown open last year adding 4 more lanes but that was quickly followed by demolition of the old one and now they are rebuilding it. Why Also, the quality of road on new flyovers in Mumbai is average. Simple maintenance and resurfacing of roads is what we all need. I am totally okay with 4 lanes instead of 6/8 as long as the road surface, markings, signages, lights and medians are well maintained. Once the Missing Link gets operational on MPEW by September-October 2025 or so, we should have a clean drive from Mumbai to Pune and vice versa without having to see any construction bits in between. Seriously Maharashtra is in shambles as someone pointed out. Endless construction work
