Btw they take this service lane just so that they do not have to wait at that one signal under Jogeshwari flyover.

Another thing, there is a police post right next to the signal under the flyover. They could catch you driving the opposite way. All the best sir!
There is no driving on the wrong side involved here ...I guess you got it wrong ?

Am sorry! i thought you wanted to drive back on the same side of the road along the service road. Had totally forgotten about the underpass!! So did you end up trying this route?

Is there traffic on this road in mornings? If I want to reach SEEPZ, shall I take this route (JVLR Fly-Over - Sher-e-Punjab - MIDC Road - SEEPZ)?

Thanks,
@ Jignesh
I do travel post the peak traffic hours. so cant answer the density of vehicles at those times. There is some road concretization, so there will be some traffic snarls. But yes the road will lead out to Nelco / Ahura Centre,

After getting off the Jog Flyover, keep left, there is a small left, its basically a cut in the road railings, just before the Highway curves right.
Down that road, take the left, keep going straight, on your left Gulati Sweets, (awesome chole bature), then the Gurudwara on your right. Keep going straight, climb a little uphill, right takes you to Nelco, and the left back to JVLR.

Hope this helps

No - I did not try this...since the traffic towards Aarey flyover was choc-o-bloc as usual. It would have taken me the same time to reach the Aarey flyover as it took me to reach the JVLR signal.

There is no running away - we are bambooed from all sides

Re: Mumbai Traffic

Going to SEEPZ via Sher-e-Punjab would take more time. and a hell lot more during peak hours. Best way to reach SEEPZ is JVLR in my opinion.

Hello,

Even I came from Malad West to SEEPZ via Aarey, no effect of Bharat Bandh on this route.

Infact Roads are super smooth today, with no traffic at any junctions. Today is one of the days when you genuinely enjoy driving in Mumbai.

Thanks,

Why is JJ Flyover closed?

If you want to reach airport, take the P.D'mello Road (parallel to docks) onto Kidwai Road till Kingcircle. Take Sion Hospital-Dharavi road to join Western Express Highway. And take the same route back. This road is empty all the time.

Hello,

Just a update friends, the JVLR junction road concrete work is complete & now all fours lanes are open for vehicles. I saw this yesterday, i.e. Saturday.

Let us hope that they do not start the remaining road's concrete work before October.

This will ensure that Aarey road will be free now. Also last week there were three incidents of tree fall inside Aarey, blocking traffic for long times.

Thanks,

the left 2 lanes are now craters so effectively there are only 2 new lanes there.

Re: Mumbai Traffic

One of the main reasons for causing traffic jams is our beautifully paved roads.I mean they so smooth and the best in world. No other country can match our road conditions. Its so beautiful with so many lovely dents in them which make it pleasing to the eye.Who wants to see plain straight levelled surfaced roads.Thats extremely boring.Hence we get roads which have their trademark character of these dents, curves, also known as craters.Heck, who needs to go to the moon.Just visit one of the many roads in our city.Every junction, every corner is riddled with these craters.I have a brilliant idea.Me thinks them ministers should start naming potholes. Now won't that be brilliant.Have a pothole named after your favourite minister.

Is this at the Western Expressway side?

The old bridges at Kanjurmarg/Gandhi Nagar is in the state of neglect ever since the new bridges were inagurated. Have seen some dangerous driving on the bridges towards Eastern expressway. Vehicles from extreme right on the flyover move towards the new bridge without any warning if they find the new bridge to be with less traffic. Have seen almost a crash but avoided with last minute braking.

Re: Mumbai Traffic

The jams are back the WEH-JVLR junction. Nothing will change in this city for sure.

Re: Mumbai Traffic

There was a huge traffic jam today at the Octroi before the Mulund Toll on the Eastern Express highway. The jam extended till the road over the rail bridge at Kopri. This caused another jam starting at R Mall and extending till Majiwada where the trucks, tankers, trailers all moved at snail speed over the battered roads. Took almost an hour to get through the traffic.

I hope this does not become a daily affair.
