Addiction to Trance

Well it started some 10 years back. My song collection was looking some boring. Same song same style. I was looking for some new type of music but had no clue how to describe it to music store keeper. It was like a child who want to converse with the whole world but doesnt know how to speak. That music store keeper was my friend who after listening to my description suggested me ENIGMA. While returning home, I put it in cassette player. I liked the music but something was missing that I was looking for. Apart from that there was extreme reaction from my father who was driving the car. He defined the music horrific and like the world is coming to an end. Well I removed the cassette and started listening it on walkman. But still it didnt stir my soul(no offence, personal preference). Luckily at the same time I cleared MBBS entrance and had to go Bangalore for counseling. Thee I visited Planet M for the first time and was awestruck with the collection present there. There the store keeper after listening me, gave me Sony Trance Trip 3. I listened the music whole back journey and that was the turning point. No other music looked that good after that. But my friend group also didnt like the music saying no lyrics, no song. Whatever, today I am totally addicted to Trance.
Actually what is Trance Music-
It can make you experience the alien world. Like a dreaming state. To experience the effect one shouldnt look out something out of the song, rather he/she should surrender herself to the music. Leave your worries behind. The trance which you least like today will be among your favourite tomorrow. It can be listened any time like while driving, working out, or getting ready in the morning. Now my brother also like the music who earlier listened JazzyB. Some of my all time favourite trance tracks-
Agnelli & Nelson- Hudson Street
Exhale- Armin van buren
Lost at sea- Quicksilver
Phatt bass
7 days and one weak- Bbe
Project Infinity
Long live trance music as I cant live without it.

Me too, me too

@Abhi,

I love trance as well. It is not my only number one choice, it is joint first with Heavy Metal and Hard Rock. Heh heh.

Some of my favorites are:

For an Angel - Paul van Dyk
Xpander - Sasha
Chase the Sun - Do not know the name of the artist
Flaming June - The remix by Paul van Dyk, forgot the name of the original artist
As the rush comes - Motorcycle

... and many more. I love to download and listen to podcasts by Armin Van Buuren and DJ Tiesto. That way you get a lot of good stuff (mix of trance and electronica) for free.

Hooked onto trance recently

Paul Van Dyk
ATB
Tiesto
Aarmin
Johnny mason(listened only once)

I want to start collecting these songs as i listen to you tube playlists. List of songs or albums would be great to start the same and we could add onto it.

I dont like to listen to electronica though

Re: Addiction to Trance

i agree with you abhi.. just surrender to it , let the music engulf you & work its magic. Thats how even I used to explain my friends who werent accustomed to - "no lyrics".

Am a big fan of vocal/progressive/uplifting trance that emphasizes on the music yet doesnt get too electronic

Armin Van Buuren's albums Imagine and Mirage are my favourites

And ultimately its the sensation which the Trance songs induce that I found missing Electronic House tracks listed in the thread which cant be described in words and that is the main theme of the thread.
