Thoroughly enjoyed the finals yesterday. It was a good final match to watch. Both SL and Ind put their heart and soul into the match. Finally, the partnerships between Kohli and Gautam, Gautam and Dhoni sealed a very tense match for India. Also, one must applaud Mahela's innings. He seldom seemed to hit the ball up in the air, and still managed more than a run a ball. Fantastic vintage stuff from Mahela.

In my opinion, this Indian team has done it better than the 1983 team. This team has been more consistent for the past two years before doing it on the big stage. All the best to team India.

Sangakkara has been their Blue eyed boy for years now writing frequent articles there. They surely wouldn't want to portray him as a cheater. The original article which appeared yesterday on Cricinfo did not have this bit about the call being audible to the television producers. I guess that it has been doctored to portray Sangakkara as the aggrieved party.

Also pls note that Sangakkara was effusive in praise for the Indians. He is normally a sore loser and I suspect that he was so generous with his comments in the post match presentation to negate the bad press that he had generated for the toss incident!

The toss incident would have been blown out of proportions had India Lost. Although Sanga would not have minded that. Cricket as they say levels everything and finally India won and that is what matters to me

FYI! it was from the live commentary and not from the match article, meaning it was updated during the match. Also since Crowe didn't hear it too, I don't see much of an issue here. It is good to praise the Indian Team, but at the same time we should reserve some for the opponents too. They put up a good fight and were very much up for it.

Watch and scrutinize the video very carefully. Try and understand the body-language of both the players and the match referee. When the coin was flipped the first time, turn up the volume and you'll hear a faint 'tails' from Sangakkara. Dhoni heard it correctly and was ready to say that the Indian team would like to bat first.

The match-referee even gestured to Dhoni after the coin was tossed, indicating that he had won the toss. And that's when the confusion began. Dhoni and Sangakkara both knew that 'tails' was the call by the SL skipper.
