I've got a decent collection of catalogs from cars from the late 80's to the early 90's. This includes american, japanese, and some german cars. Let me know if you want any particular ones scanned.

how come i never noticed this thread before?

im crazy bout collecting automobilia, and that mainly means automitive literature...while i do have loads of modern day indian car literature (which is pure crap!), my main interests have been vintage and classic...my oldest stuff dates to the 1920s, and an uncle gifted me many chevy and studebaker catalogues from the 40s...they are gorgeous! My great grandad would bring the latest brochures whenver abroad for my dad, so now i have them, but as vintage...mainly english stuff, except for one fabulous cadillac range catalogue from the 60s. I really must get down to scanning it for posterity...

i have a sizeable collection from the US and Europe.

Here's my brochure list :

1. Porsche

2. BMW

3. Mercedes

4. Alfa Romeo - This was actually couriered to me all the way from Bristol (came via FedEx) free of cost. Placed an online request on the website few years back.

5. Aston Martin

6. Jaguar

7. Renault

8. Citroen

9. Saab

10. Dodge (Viper)

11. Chevy (corvette)

12. Lamborghini - my favorite brochure. Picked it up in Italy.

13. Ferrari - Another fav which I picked up in Italy.

14. Lexus

15. Peugeot - love the 907.

Some are published in French, so i make do with the pics unless my wife has patience translating them to me.

I love brochures too.

The problem is, how do you get them without giving the salesman your contact numbers and him calling 3 times a week asking when you are planning to buy the car?

Also, in Dubai I doubt anyone even cares about the cost of a brochure, but in Indian rupees, it comes out to 100 rupees or so, and they'll have only one copy of it in the showroom and it'll be laminated.

Used to collect these when a Kid, now I just keep all Magazines - ACI & TG . Never throw them away or sell them to Kabadi .. Maybe one day they will get me fortunes !!! LOL !!

BTW I am sure most of you would have noticed at AutoExpo, people come in Hoardes and collect handbags etc, catalogues, freebies !! Wonder what they do with these. THe only time I did this was at Mercedes Stall a few yrs back, Loved their Pack - I actually did buy a LIghter from them - It was better than Zippo ( MODS - SORRY FOR GOING OFF TOPIC )
