Completely agree about Sanjay Manjrekar, but in the last few tournaments Deep Dasgupta is on the other side of excitement spectrum. Too much excitement with no modulation!

Add Ian Smith to the list. The guy’s enthusiasm as well as spontaneity are infectious. He calls the action as it is, and doesn’t annoy by giving too much gyaan.

Bill Lawry…. Best voice behind the mic especially during matches in Australia. It was a treat to hear him in the 1985 Benson Hedges World Championship of Cricket which India won and Shastri got the Audi!

We’re only 10 matches into IPL but Rohan Gavaskar is kind of topping the list already for me. Not a fan of the elder Gavaskar either.
Even Bhogle and his thesaurus gets dwarfed by commentary from actual players nowadays. Gets in my nerves.

They should honestly just patch the DJ in the stadium through. The commentary on jio cinema is killing the experience.

I have always liked Ian Bishop's commentary. Never goes over the top, balanced views and great insights.

The worst by far is Wasim Akram. He doesn't do anything other than reading the score.

Sanju Manju is just plain annoying. The kind of person who forces you to use the mute button on your remote the moment he opens his mouth.

In the RCB vs KKR game, Sunny G was going on a rant about Venky Iyer and while he was ranting, Iyer smashed a huge six and at that moment, the commentary was docile to say the least. Almost as though he was actively trying to ignore that monstrous hit.
So I think Sunny G is slowly but surely taking the lead over the others in the “worst commentator” category.

With all due respects to the great man, his commentary has often been lameo and down to stating the obvious. He really fails to inspirit the connoisseurs of the game and should call it a day from the comm box.

By the way, his name is missing from the poll list.
