Yes, you can use https://webaccess.dreamfolks.in/login-user to generate a QR code for lounge access. Once QR code is generated, it is valid for 48 hours AFAIK.

Open question to all fellow CC geeks, which website you use to search for award flights?

But this varies from airport to airport. I have been asked for boarding pass along with credit card at some airports.
You were absolutely spot on. She accessed the lounge at 10 am today. I generated the QR code via Dreamfolks website last night. No one asked for boarding pass.

Do tell if you have also accessed the new Rupay lounge at T3. She wasn't impressed by the buffet spread at Encalm lounge, so I was thinking next time we can try Rupay lounge if it's better than Encalm.

You can generate QR code via Dreamfolks website which he can scan at those airports. If lucky and no one asks for boarding pass then he is good to go.

My belief about how the education payments works with CC -

1. When you pay via third party websites, you are just paying them the money but with credit card. They in turn do like a NEFT transfer or bank transfer mechanism to the institution. Banks don't gain anything here irrespective of rewards. Third party apps get cash flow. So banks charge an extra fee of 1% to get their perceived lost share of revenue.

2. When you pay in the school website, there is issuing bank, acquiring bank and payment gateway tie up similar to any online merchant. The same is applicable for POS transaction. All of them make money. Hence no extra fee is charged by banks. If you can get rewards, it will be great.

I have used the Rupay Lounge at T3. That is also managed by encalm and the buffet options are pretty much the same (or infact lesser ) as the Enclam lounge.
It is a smaller lounge but not as many people use it (or are Rupay users that know about it) , and it also has a Gaming lounge area with 3 x PS5s placed with some games available if you want to kill time. I would choose it again if I have the option. Another good thing with Rupay lounge is that you can just use your Rupay Card on UPI here. Scan the QR code with your phone and just put in the PIN to gain access, dont even need to take out the physical card.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Requesting advice/suggestions from experts here.

I recently got myself the ICICI Sapphiro card with no joining fees, annual fees, lifetime free usage.

I also have a HDFC Regalia card and been using it for the last few years.

On the card features, both have their merits/demerits:

HDFC:

- 1 RP for every 400 rupees spent
- 2 Domestic Airport Lounge visits complimentary, per quarter

ICICI:

- Reward Points (RPs) per ₹100 spent:

- 2 RPs on Domestic Spends

- 4 RP on International Spends

- 1 RP on Utilities & Insurance

- 4 louge visits per quarter

- Buy one ticket and get upto ₹500 off on the second ticket on BookMyShow, twice a month.

ICICI Customer Care and support has been horrible. I have had the card for a little over a month and trying to get an add-on card for my wife has been frustrating.

HDFC on the other hand has been fantastic on the customer service front.

I want to retain only one card, could you please help me decide which to cancel from these two?

Keep the Regalia. Use the Smartbuy and gyftr portal to the max. Try and upgrade to Infinia.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Hey everyone, I posted here before about credit cards and got some awesome help, but I kinda put the decision on hold.

So, I'm buying an Innova Hycross, and when I went to get a loan, BAM! Turns out my CIBIL score is practically non-existent (-1!) because I've never taken out any loans, big or small. This means I'm stuck with a crazy 9.5% interest rate. Ouch.

To avoid this again, I figured I should finally get a credit card. Any recommendations? I'll mostly use it for bills, gas, and shopping. I don't travel for work, but I do take a couple of trips a year. Thanks!

Just get whatever credit card you can get from your bank that you hold a salary account in. They would have (Lifetime) free options.

If there's no specific bank like that for you. You can go for IDFC /HDFC/ICICI, they offer secured credit cards (backed by an FD) exactly for this purpose, to build a credit score. Use the card for your daily expenses (upto 30 percent limit ideally) for about 6 months and you should have a decent CIBIL by the end of that time.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Hello fellow BHPians,

I’ve been encountering a frustrating issue with recurring international subscriptions (UFC FightPass, Patreon , Hootsuite). It’s not limited to one bank either—I’ve faced declines on:

1.HDFC Credit Card
2. Federal Bank (Signet) Credit Card
3. SBI Credit Card

In each case, I keep getting a generic error like “Transaction Declined! Non-Compliant Transaction.” Here’s what I’ve done so far:

1. Checked/Enabled International Usage: I toggled international transactions ON and set sufficient limits in each bank’s net banking/mobile app.
2. Sufficient Credit Limit: I have enough available credit, so it’s not a limit issue.
3. Aware of RBI’s E-Mandate Rules: I know the new guidelines require additional authentication for recurring payments, but despite attempting manual/one-time payments or e-mandate setups, the payment still gets flagged and declined.
4. Contacted Customer Support: Responses from all banks have been largely generic, asking me to re-check card settings. Nothing conclusive so far.

Questions for the community:
1. Has anyone else faced similar issues across multiple bank credit cards for international recurring subscriptions?
2. Are there specific e-mandate or additional authentication steps I might be missing?
3. Tried using Paypal , but I still get the same error.

I’d prefer to get one of these cards to work if possible (it keeps my billing simpler). If any of you have successfully set up recurring international payments post-RBI’s new rules, I’d really appreciate your tips!

Thanks
Dinesh

One thing to note here if you are generating QR in dreamfolks, many lounges like one in Bangalore sometimes check the card name with boarding pass.

Last time i generated QR for my brother but due to this check he was unable to use. The hack for this is : Delete the card and save it with the name of the guest. While saving CC in Dreamfolks, card name is not checked and card# and dates do. While generating QR, it will have name of the guest which will match the boarding pass.

ICICI recently launched a portal to rival HDFC SmartBuy, details in video below. I am also having LTF Sapphiro Mastercard + Amex. I was having savings A/C with them and they offered me the option.

Although its not my primary card and domestic lounge benefits require a mammoth 75L spend/quarter, it is wise to keep it for the following reasons:

1: Access to ICICI Bank CC instant discounts on popular online platforms like Flipkart + Amazon. I use this mainly for card discount offers where i get min 10% based on the promotion

2: Apple changed their default card from HDFC to ICICI for availing discounts on their products from Indian website/stores. I got a cool 5K off on iPhone 16Pro using ICICI card at launch price + no cost EMI option

3: Although domestic lounge + spa benefits are devalued, it still offers 2 International lounges through DreamFolks without any spend requirements. Not that i need it as my corporate debit card has unlimited+8 lounge access on domestic & international respectively.

4: Lastly the one i use the most : Buy one get one free movie ticket upto Rs 500, two times a month. This is pretty useful while booking recliners, 4DX and Imaxes. My corporate debit card has same benefit but upto 350.

Are you trying these e Mandates for non-INR International transactions? If that is the case, AFAIK, the recurring option will not work. Did you tell the Customer support you contacted that you are having issues with these type of transactions? Because I feel they gave you the canned answer for regular eMandates.

I have stopped all overseas subscriptions since this issue cropped up and now take annual and pay one time and then renew again.

Even for some INR transactions like Microsoft, Netflix, Spotify etc. I have seen occassional failures.

For international payments, Amex works the best for me (through paypal and without) and always without OTP as well. All other banks go through sometimes but on other occasions will flag the transaction and even go as far as to block the card for a few days. I'm using Amex for such smaller recurring payments.

I too have faced similar issues, with international transactions. Despite everything being ok the transaction fails. The only way out I found was to use Apple Pay of IPhone. Download the app and use Apple Pay to subscribe. Works in most cases where the app exists and there is sufficient balance in Apple Pay.
