From a long term view LTF is still the one to keep.

Anyone has a different viewpoint? Need to look as Ive been offered the metal version as an UPGRADE.
Hello,
Folks having LTF Diners Black card are indeed lucky to have it.
The HDFC folks had come to my workplace and the plastic one has been discontinued, they said. The metal ones require 8L min (than earlier 5L) spend to waive off the annual fee of 10k. One should retain it for sure with the free lounge benefits it offers world wide + LTF.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

I'm planning to keep LTF Diners black till they devalue it. Then look at options.

Statement amount due xxxxx.09. Paying from the app, selecting 'pay statement due' option showed the same amount as due, but deduction was xxxxx.08. Had to go back and pay a rupee more to zero out my 'unpaid balance' of ONE paisa.

For ICICI card I pay through ICICI and there has never been any roundoff error.

For other cards I round off to the next 5 rupees just to prevent such errors.

My recommendation is to pay just a bit more, rather than exact amount. Not only does this prevent round off errors, but also gives you a moral ground to ask for leniency in case of genuine error in future.

If the card and account from which you pay are with the same bank, why not sign up for the auto payment option ?

Works like a charm. The exact amount is debited only on the due date without any fear of missing out.

Doing it manually requires you to remember the due date and having to pay atleast a day in advance for peace of mind.

I usually travel once in 4-5 months and use the credit card points to book flights via smartbuy. The other benefit I try to take is the airport lounge access which is now stopped for Regalia. Other than that, I do not use the card as an advantage perspective anywhere. So I am really wondering if Infinia is really worth it? Or should I stick to Regalia Gold itself.
Infinia is a better card with good rewards compared to Regalia, if you are into airmiles or hotel points game. It is a much sought after card in point miners community but it is invite only and HDFC doesn't give it to everyone.

It has good earning structure and more importantly higher capping value for accelerated points when large purchase needs to be done. Value lies in maximizing them with Smartbuy and transferring it to international Airline and hotel partners at 1:1 rather than buying tickets through Smartbuy for redemption.

Also, you get 12500 points for the fee paid. So you are only paying the GST as you can use the points for flight bookings at 1:1. So take it if you are into airmiles game. I personally prefer free cards as I don't like spending money to spend my own money. It is individual preference

Re: The Credit Card Thread

I just have two cards, HDFC & Amex. HDFC is on auto-pay and for Amex, I always round it up to 100 rupees. Like if my statement due is 13,333.33 then I just pay 13,400.00.

It's just so random. Works fine for months at a time, and even yesterday, I only caught it because I saw the error on the actual debit SMS, the iMobile app payment screen showed the correct amount.

I thought they'd smartened up enough so we don't have to manually round up payments. Nothing doing.

But why not always have some credit balance while paying ? That's what I do. Could just be 50 bucks.

Used to do it, will do it again.

Apparently, can't trust a bank handling vast sums to even do elementary math.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Hi, anyone using IDFC HP first power plus card and using HP pay app for fuel? I feel the bank is miscalculating the cash back so would like to check with someone else as well to see I am not missing anything.

I have been using this card since June and even I have the same question. I was just lazy enough not to post a detailed message here asking for the clarification.
Now, that you already know about this card, let me directly jump to my query/understanding:
I am getting only 4% cashback as against 5.5% (6.5% minus 1% fuel surcharge stated in the website), even after using HP Pay app to pay for the fuel.
1) When I load the amount onto HP Pay app, I get reward points in the CC account, which is equivalent to 4% cash back.
2) I am charged 1% as surcharge to my CC.
3) I get the happy coins in the app, which is equivalent to 0.75% of the amount loaded.
4) After I fill the fuel and pay the amount using HP Pay app, I get the happy coins in the app, which is equivalent to 0.25% of the amount paid.

Overall, I am getting 4%-1%+0.75%+0.25% = 4% cash back.

So, my first question is, do you also see the same calculations?
Second question would be, how to get additional 1.5% cashback as mentioned in the website?

Yes, I observed the same. This 1% coin cash back is not even a credit card feature. Seems HP offers it across payment methods. So practically it’s just a 3% cash back vs UPI.

I have a question as well - are your credit card and HP pay account mapped to the same phone number? In my case, the card is on my wife’s number and HP Pay app is registered on mine. So I was wondering if this is the reason for 1% coins vs stated 1.5 % coins cash back in my case.

Wont be possible now. As per RBI mandate, banks can not keep advance from custkmers in Credit Card accounts.

Credit card users in India may no longer be able to overpay their dues https://www.business-standard.com/am...1500327_1.html

I think this will be applicable only if we pay over total outstanding. If you pay over statement due (to avoid rounding) but still under total outstanding, I think refund will not be applicable.
