Bumping up an old issue. I couldn't find anywhere on the ICICI bank site any place where I can set it lower or disable it.

My wife and myself were also baffled by this no PIN required transaction on wireless cards. We felt it is risky. We are not aware of this RBI guideline.

Citi Premier miles card has different design!
Front has only the name. Card number and expiry are moved to back of the card.

You cannot set it lower for sure. 2000 is the cap set by RBI and there is no provision to change it. I am not certain if it can be disabled but in my opinion it is otherwise.

Visa Reward, too. Probably their entire portfolio. But my Premier Miles that renewed in February got only an updated version of the old design (fonts have changed, no embossing etc.).

Also noted that all these new cards are NFC capable. Just that many POS operators don't know about it, so you need to inform them.

On a different note - my alumni group has managed a deal with HDFC for lifetime free Diners Black card. I presume this is good stuff because the excitement on the alumni groups (WA/Email) is high. I've also joined the bandwagon (will get rid of Regalia then, if the new card has fuel surcharge waiver).

One word of caution from my side. I had Regalia and last year I got upgraded to Diners Black. Reward points are good here. But the catch is, this being a Diners Club card, it is not accepted at some places. This happens both online and offline. If you are okay with this, then you can go-ahead.

As of now nothing comes near to DCB in terms of benefits. Slowly they are getting reduced. But still it is good to hold. Acceptance is almost on par with Visa and MC

I have close to 40K JP miles and 8 upgrade vouchers (useless now) . All the miles were accumulated by flying with Jet over the last year and I don't have any affiliated credit card.
What i see is Jet Privilege was sold to Etihad and we can exchange the miles for air tickets on other airlines.

As of now Iam still holding the miles, will take a decision soon.

Regards,
Pradeep.

@kavensri: Is the minimum spend needed to waive annual fees on your new Diners Black the same as your old Regalia card?

I got upgraded to Regalia MasterCard (from a Titanium MasterCard) a couple of years ago, but the minimum spend threshold was the same as the Titanium's (which, at the time, was 1/5th of a standard Regalia card). Since my current Regalia is close to expiry, I'm curious to know if it works for an upgrade to Diners as well!

Re: The Credit Card Thread

Query :

Is there no tangible difference between the HDFC Preferred and Imperia customers?

My father's a longstanding Imperia customer. A friend had told that if a relative is Imperia, other family members are also eligible for the same. However, when I called my RM, he said that there is no real difference IRL between Imperia and Preferred customers.

You can convert them to Amazon.in & BookMyShow GVs.
Though, unsurprisingly, the conversion ratio has gone up by around 20%. For the past year, my family is watching movies almost on a weekly basis at the theatre, and have converted over 80K JP miles.

I have now converted all my remaining miles to Amazon.in GVs, and plan on using them for purchase during this May sale.

I had close to 150000 miles. Encashed them for Amazon and Flipkart vouchers.

Re: The Credit Card Thread

I have a question please-
I spent 20,000 on CC in March for which my payment is due.
I received statement and outstanding dues details for 20,000.

I received a part refund of 10,000 for 20,000 that I had spent as I had returned the goods purchased. Amount credited back to card.
Do i still need to pay 20000 or can I pay 10,000?
HDFC account summary page still shows that i need to pay 20000.
