Unfortunately, I saw that movie. So book would NOT keep any suspense or surprise.

American Icon - Alan Mullaly and a fight to save Ford Motor Co.

Anyone read this book? IMO a must read for Ford fans at least.

Got a strange message from Amazon.com today. Didn't know they had such a feature here. No, I am not selling my copy of the book. I bought it to refresh my FT, still not done.

Yes, Amazon has a "sell used items" option in Bangalore. Can be books, electronics and I think anything else. You can list it like any seller would do and once someone purchases it, Amazon will pick it up and deliver it. No direct dealings with the buyer.

Have listed an old laptop like this. No buyers yet. Another member has sold a whole bunch of books through this method.

But interesting to see that they are trying to identify and target potential sellers based on demand for an item.

I sell all my Olympus gear via Amazon.com US site. Didn't know India had the same option, won't work for Olympus though. Might work for books.

For the reader in you!

I could not find any thread on TeamBhp relating to novels, which is surprising! So thought of starting one, where people can share things like a pic of their collections, how many books they've read and which is the genre that they like the most!
If there's a thread already existing, i request the mods to move it there!
I have read about 120 books and have 114 collections as of now. Got this shelf recently made! Eagerly awaiting members to suggest good reads!
Thank you

Abhi, there is already a thread related to books and the link is
here. I see that you read fiction books and interested in mystery (seeing more dan brown novels). I do have a fair bit of collection (around 200+ novels) and like same genre as you.

Mods, please do merge this with the books thread.

Picked up Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe after you both had talked about it in the Demonetisation thread, and, now almost nearing the end, it has come to take its place in my list of favourite books.

Just finished reading Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Zafon and it is a gem. For those into fiction thriller, this is a book you can't miss.

This number made me curious, so I looked up how many Kindle books I have purchased since 2010, when I got my first Kindle. Turns out I have bought 168 books on Kindle. But I have been reading books since 1976, covering around 20-25 books every year. I never thought about keeping count.

Harold Robbins

Last week the "Rocky" saga was being played on a movie channel (through the week).

Well, being a fan of Sly Stallone, would try to watch whatever was going on...

In the very first film, he plays a young boxer who moonlights as a 'collector'.

That brought back some memories of a book which I had read about 35 years ago - story of a boxer, agreeing to 'fix' a match, reneging on the promise, marrying his childhood sweetheart, going broke.... 'A Stone for Danny Fisher' by Harold Robbins.

And, two days back while browsing for books in the library, I came across 'The Pirate' written by him. Talk about coincidences!!

In fact, many of his books were made into successful movies. 'The Betsy' was a real entertainer....

Any fans of Harold Robbins here?

Achebe is an addiction! You read one book of his, you will be compelled to read all. Though his philosophy might not appeal to you, his portrayal of human nature in the height of its glory and in the depths of darkness certainly will.

This collection is built upon by my dad, my sister and myself. All three of us read a lot. The number was more but recently donated few to library and few had to throw because it had torn/eaten away.

Even though I have kindle and few books in them , I prefer paperback always. Only issue that I face is a place to keep them.

Interesting, did a count about 350+ paperback. 99% of them fiction trending in courtroom drama and murder mysteries. Thanks to Perry Mason I get close to century just with his books.
Kindle about 200 ,must have read 70-80 odd ones.
