Re: Which Mattress To Buy and Points to Consider

After doing some research in the internet and also from this thread, I had placed an order for this mattress, https://springtek.in/dreamer-orthopa...m-dual-comfort, from springtek. It was a custom size of 78x64x6. Received the mattress today and the initial impression of the product is good.

The latex mattress from Sunday brand has worked wonder for me. No more I have those back pain after I wake up from the morning. The PEPS spring mattress was a dampener in 2 years and I had to change both the mattresses.

Re: Which Mattress To Buy and Points to Consider

The Cotton mattresses at my home in home town are well past their life and giving us serious body pain.
I am looking for about 2 Queen and 1 double mattress and the usage will be about 2-3 months a year. Of which about 2 months will be during the peak Kerala summer.

Not looking at any high-end ones. But any good suggestions that won't burn the pocket?
Not very particular about Spring mattresses to keep the cost down.

The main requirements are that it should not make us feel hotter in summers(no AC)
Should be comfortable and no body pains.

I have been using Spring mattresses for the last 12+ years when not in my hometown. So if I don't go with Spring, are foam/memory foam mattresses the next best option? Do they make you feel warmer in summer?

Any feedback on Wakefit Foam Spring mattresses?

Found this much cheaper than the other Spring options available in KurlOn/ Duroflex etc.
Which are some other brands that I can check?

@govigov @riteshritesh, can you guys let me know how your mattress are holding up. I am planning to get this model and don't see a lot of reviews for them.

Re: Which Mattress To Buy and Points to Consider

Posting here after waking up with another painful lower back. For ref. I have a slipped disc in my lower spine, stand 185 cm and weigh 125 KGs. I had put my faith in The Sleep Company's SmartGrid matrix which is basically the same concept as the Purple mattresses sold in the US. My original SmartGrid and even its subsequent replacement have developed sag, which causes my lower back to sink in. The best solution I have is to keep alternating on either side of the bed, but by now the mattress just can't recover its support quick enough for me to avoid sagging.

Thinking about selling off the replacement on OLX, as I don't see the point of sticking with The Sleep Company anymore. Any suggestions on mattresses from others with a slipped disc and a heavy build?

Changed to a Duroflex Tattva which is basically a coir mattress with a layer of latex on top. Firm mattress and it has made sure I don't have any issues with the lower back aches. There are a lot of firm to very firm options in Duroflex and Kurl-On which you have a look at.

Hello,

So far, the mattress has not degraded in quality at all. I really like it. have had 7 to 8 hour sleep on it without an aching bad ache. Please check the thickness of the latex portion across different brand of mattresses.

I have been using Sunidra latex mattress for over 2 years now. The mattress has held its shape quite well so far. It provides the perfect blend of comfort and firmness. Highly recommended.

Since I needed custom size mattress, I placed order through their website. I had multiple rounds of discussion with one of their sales rep (Sai) before ordering. His number is
+91 88673 76746.

Back then I had paid around Rs 12K for 2 mattresses (30X70). The product was shipped 1 week after I placed the order.

Re: Which Mattress To Buy and Points to Consider

Since the last 3-4 years i've been having back problems where my back seizes suddenly if i strech it a bit at any odd angle. The pain would be excruciating and it would take me a week to fully recover.. Initially i thought this was due to my existing foam mattress being too soft and bought a hard foam mattress. Then the frequency of these episodes started increasing. After bit of research and reviews from this thread I bought the 6 in soft latex morning owl mattress which has a 2inch 65 density latex over a 4 inch 80 density latex layer.
I was a bit sceptical at first as it was very soft but , voila, my back seizures completey disappeared since then (been about 5 months now).

I considered foamsindia matress as well which had similar specs but went with MO as it had a 100 day trial.

Re: Which Mattress To Buy and Points to Consider

I need a mattress (60x78) for the guest room. We won't be using it much hence I do not need a really high-end mattress. I was looking at "Sunday Ortho Memory 4 Mattress".

Anybody have used this model? Any inputs for this particular mattress is greatly appreciated.

Any recommendation for a good pillow for side sleepers? Budget not an issue.

Yeah the mattress is good and I would recommend it, but my 10 year old 'ortho' coir mattress is still the king of the Zzzz. Now I am sure there are better mattress out there but I am equally sure they are not for 'everyone' and most likely cost a lot more money.

My final word is for an everyday individual a hard coir mattress with some basic cushioning is the way to go
I quoted the above to set the context, I agree with the above and had a good experience (10yr+) with Kurlon basic coir mattress with minimal foam topping. It is time for me to get a new one and I am looking at following Centuary coir mattresses.

Centuary Dr Sleep - Coir + Ortho foam + Rebonded foam - 5in
Centuary King - Coir+Ortho foam on top - 5in

Looking for feedback/suggestions on the above. Feel free to suggest in other brands as well.
