A Guide : Eating Out In Mysore!

Hi All,

I am starting this thread keeping in mind all the t-bhpians who are prospect visitors to Mysore in the future.
I have been to Mysore many times but always land up eating in
RR hotel- Chicken Biryani for lunch and Dosa in Chaddi hotel.
Even after staying in Mysore for work purpose i was fond of only these two places.
I am sure there are 'n' no of places in Mysore for tasty food lovers.
It would be really great who are from Mysore and know the place very well for all the food joint please make a note here .
We can also pen down a few joint on the way to mysore on mysore road from Bangalore.

Thanks
MSVG

Hey, where is this Chaddi hotel? For dosas, I loved the Mylari hotel in Nazarbad. Lip smacking dosas, I must say. One more joint is the Gayathri Tiffin Room, popularly known as GTR. I haven't been there yet, but have heard lots of good stories about it.

I have had the CB at RR hotel, it is good, but the hotel itself is not that clean, and of course, too much crowd in too little space.

It means the same as in Hindi. I really want to know, why the owner named it like that.

+1 to that. I normally make it a point to have Dosa there whenever I cross Mysore. That Dosa is amazing.
Been to The Roost once and it seems to be a good place to hangout in the evening.

In the couple of trips that I have been to Mysore, I have always found the Dasaprakash Paradise in Yadavagiri to be a very good place to have veg food and of course a wonderful place to stay. Large rooms and a typical "no-rush" Mysore style. Quite enjoyable indeed.

Olive Garden at Windflower Resorts close to Chamundi hills. Awesome food and ambience at super reasonable prices.

My Two Cents,

Shikari Restaurent @Hotel Orchid Metropole.

Mughal Durbar-Chicken Biryani served here is the best.

Kadal at the Nalpad Residency is for sea food lovers

Kafe Biryani Corner- Try the Butter Chicken, Chicken Kalimirchi and Chicken Kadai.

Gufa is another restaurant in Mysore that serves tasty non-veg food. The interiors are unique (resembles a cave) and add to the dining experience. You can choose from Indian, Chinese and Continental cuisine.

Jewel Rock too serves non-vegetarian food in Indian, Continental and Chinese menus.

Hey that Mylari hotel is called Chaddi hotel by old mysoreans especially students who studied in the university. The Dosas are like very light and one can eat more than 3 in a meal.

If anyone going with family and kids, go to PlanetX

Good food for the family. (Not the Best, but clean)

Go karts for the wannabe racer.

Nice games for the kids to play around.

Kids especially will have a ball. Highly recommended.

You can try Silent Shores. It was called Kaynes earlier. Its quite far from the city enter. Its on the road leading to BEML. Excellent ambiance. Good food.
Also, Royal Orchard Metro pole and Regalis server delicious food. Must stop for buffets there!
Hotel Ruchi on hunsur road is also supposed to be good. I haven't gone there myself yet
Olive Garden, as somebody has mentioned is also quite good.

Hotel Ilapur used to serve mouth watering Andra food on a banana leaf. Not sure if its still there. It was on the same lane as Jewel Rock.
