Surely one of Mumbai,Delhi or Bangalore would be at the top of such a list for cars.
In terms of total number of vehicles in a city, I think my city is #1. Unfortunately :(

True. Having lived in your city for 2+ years and it being one of my favorite cities in this country sad to see the 2-wheeler population explosion.

@Avishar, your post is unclear, is it total vehicular population OR the most number of D and above segment cars in a city?

Let me take a guess here :-

Total Vehicular Population

1. Delhi
2. Mumbai
3. Kolkatta
4. Chennai
5. Hyderabad
6. Bangalore

D and above Vehicle population

1. Delhi
2. Mumbai
3. Hyderabad
4. Jalandhar/Chandigarh
5. Bangalore

I could be a bit wrong in some rankings
