Re: A Yetiguide® to Coffee

Guys!

Looking out for an espresso machine. Came across two options:

1. DeLonghi Dedica EC685M

2. Sage/ Breville Bambino

Note: DeLonghi comes at a cheaper price, some 9k cheaper. If Bambino is better, is it worth putting 9k more?

Which one of these would you recommend?

Thank you

Have the EC685M for the last few years and happy with it. Felt that the taste and quality of the output was a lot more consistent than my EC145 prior to it.
Btw, James Hoffman seems to imply that the Bambino Plus is a better one that EC685M.

Here are some pics of Mr. Zev Siegl, Cofounder of Starbucks at Vidyarthi Bhavan yesterday evening.
He is in Bengaluru as a participant in the Global Investors Meet 2022 to share his entrepreneurship insights.

Combined with a full-fat milk and jugglery with two tumblers,I was able to replicate a near Darshini-style experience, which was far better than instant coffee. The smell after pouring the hot water in the filter is an added bonus.
I also suggest you try using filter coffee powder from Hatti Kappi (available at their stores).

But he gave them only three stars .

Or do stars inside a box mean something else?

He drew three stars to allude starbucks, over a coffee cup with the steam rising over.

One of the original starbucks logo has 3 stars in it.

Re: A Yetiguide® to Coffee

I'm longing for a fine, medium roast colombian coffee. I used buy Costco's Kirkland Colombian beans and grind it regularly. Any suggestions that can be an alternate at a reasonable cost in India?
Any opinions on Colombian Brew Coffee beans (reasonable price) and Vienna Roast from Blue Tokai (bit expensive)? Are they closer the profile I'm describing above?

Re: A Yetiguide® to Coffee

Hello BHP'ians,

Any suggestion for a good Milk Frother? There are lots in Amazon, unable to select the right one. Recently bought a Technora Drip Coffee Maker and want to compliment it with a good Frother.

Thanks in Advance!

Am currently using the Country Bean Steel Milk Frother. I find it good enough and serves my purpose.

That is a bean from Colombia, no indication of what roast it is or what setting you get it ground at.

My guess is medium dark roast and medium grind like 99% of US supermarket coffee used in drip filters.

Vienna Roast is a style of roasting where you go well beyond “second crack” - the coffee tends to get bitter and acidic besides being at its strongest, though many like that. You can roast any coffee beans from anywhere to a Vienna Roast.

Blue Tokai is expensive and not at all bad. Similar to slightly cheaper rates :

Flying Squirrel (coorg)
Siruvani Coffee (coimbatore)
Doug Coffee (Chikmagalur)
Seven Beans Coffee (Coorg)

They all have a variety of coffees with different processes (washed, wet process, monsooned etc), different roast strengths and your choice of grinds.

Re: A Yetiguide® to Coffee

Guys - A quick question

Any good Automatic Coffee Machine within 10K which serves good Cappuccino / Latte / Black. As it'll be my first machine, don't want to spend too much.

TIA!

Please share your experience with the machine. Has it been holding up well and are you consistently getting good brews out of it?

Machine is working as expected; makes my morning coffee day-after-day. The only gripe I have is with the single-shot filter. Make the coffee watery. The double-shot, on the other hand, gives a nice creamy espresso.
I have switched to Columbian Coffee from Blue Tokai these days.

I'd recommend Animane Cafe & Store in Indiranagar; they stock a variety of different beans / roast options for coffee enthusiasts. You could try out the options (try the coffee options in the format you like) in the cafe itself.

Edit: Just Noticed I replied to a late 2022 post. Still hope it is useful to others.
