^^ Its a German Octopus you see, If it predicts Argentines win, it goes into the Soup next few minutes. Joke apart, this will be one of the few matches with 50-50 chances. I am no octopus, just a bull, but I see this match going into penalty shoot out.
Brazil should breeze through to the Finals.

The Germans should beat Argentina, I think. Will be a close thing, but the more disciplined and pacy Germans should be able to run circles around the aging Argentine defense. Anyway, Let us hope for an open game. Whoever wins should have a relatively easy run to the final. Contrary to many opinions, the most important players in this match up will be Mascherano for the Argentines and Schweinsteiger for the Germans. How effectively they can disrupt play and break down attacks will determine the outcome. May the best team win

Really? They have the tougher half. I think the Oranje will get rid of them in the QFs. Brazil have not really faced a tough challenge yet (Cote d'Ivoire turned out to be damp squibs, and against Portugal, neither team tried to win). They will be severely tested against the Dutch. I hope the Oranje win and then we can look forward to a La Roja versus the Oranje dream semifinal. Either ways, Brazil has a far from easy passage to the final, in fact, I am willing to bet they do not make it to the finals. I predict a European team wins the cup this year

Argentina will surely win against Germany, no doubt about that.

I wish the Dutch could knock out the Brazilians but I really don't expect that. Even though they have won all the matches the Orange have been lackluster so far, hope they will play their A game against the Brazilians.

while the germans and argentina have the toughest match up, easy picking(relatively) for spain and also for Ghana-Uruguay. Does the Best team really win in this case? Well, such is always going to be the case, but clearly the one who wins in GER-ARG is going to have a HUGE confidence boost. I think ger vs spain, brazil vs uruguay in semis and ger vs brazil finale!!

No, Argentina is MUCH better than Germany. In fact, Schweinsteiger has started crying already. Check out Maradonna's response. I love this. It's becoming more and more like WWE.

World Cup 2010: Diego Maradona - Are You Nervoushh Schweinsteiger? - Goal.com
Quote:
"We don't have time to think of (Bastian) Schweinsteiger, the boys are thinking about getting on the field and playing a 2006 rematch. So it doesn't worry me what he says about penalties, kicks, that we don't know how to lose, it doesn't interest us," the outspoken trainer insisted in an interview with Fox Sports on Wednesday.

"A different game is played every match and this is going to be different, because we are coming out to attack them and play in their faces. This is what has them nervous."

'El Pelusa' then faced directly into the camera and in his best imitation of a Teutonic accent posed the question to the German: "What's the matter Schweinsteiger? Are you nervoushh?"

Well, with the same scale, even Netherlands did not have any tough team, having played Denmark, Japan, Cameroon and Slovakia. Whereas Brazil had taken tests with Portugal and Chile. As far as the game went, Brazil has improved and got their act together as each match passed. I still Vuvuzela for Brazil.

I like the comments, especially from a person who scored the "Hand of God" goal! (Argentina v England (1986 FIFA World Cup quarter-final) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) From the article - "Maradona later said, "I was waiting for my teammates to embrace me, and no one came... I told them, 'Come hug me, or the referee isn't going to allow it."" Afterall, he was the person who used the Football-Handball combination most effectively.

I do not follow football. Infact I am not even aware who won what. but I think Germany will win the cut, or atleast reach the finals.
Second choice- Argentina

i am amazed how organized Netherlands is playing in this world cup.

Striker helping each other, no one going for glory playing selfish game.

Netherlands has always been a team full of stars but they delivered very little. This team is a deviation from all that.

Hope they win this one.

Yes, with all the superstars in the past, they did not have much to show except a 1988 Euro cup. Dont know what this relatively lesser stars can achieve.

Personally am not for or against Dutch or Brazil looking at the way they play - very disciplined but boring. It should be like earlier times - when you dominate, you should dominate fully, no holding back

And thats why Argentina - Germany match is going to be more interesting. Though Germany appear stronger , I would like Argentina to win - after all I got hooked to football after seeing Maradona's game from '86 onwards. So it's HAIL ARGENTINA
