I passed by and saw the first fire engine come in. Credit goes to a lone scooterist who blocked traffic and force all vehcles to go into indiranagar. The expressions of people gave an idea that things may not have been good

I hope there are no casualities ! As far I know the building is quite old and doesnt have enough fire exits. Lets pray !

EDIT : My wife relayed info that she got from TV. it seems people are still stuck, and they standing near the windows. they are even ready to jump. People are spreading cloths on the ground floor to ensure the jump is safe.

30 injured, 9 people in critical condition.

Injured rushed to Manipal hosp.

Channel 9 Bangalore says everyone has been evacuated. 5 persons have died (Manipal hospital confirmed) as a result of jumping. They succumbed to their injuries.
Source News 9. There was no alternative. They had to jump as a result of smoke.

Over 30 people bought to Manipal.

No one had to jump, the news is misleading we were watching it all the time. It was sheer panic.

Lot people held on their nerves and didnt jump. We from the opposite building kept shouting not to jump.

Very bad news. May their souls rest in peace. It's too bad that people panicked and jumped out of 6th floor.
