More upmarket - KK, close to Bombay hotel. But this is a bar attached, three star joint. Under the same management as other KK group, which has several bars all over Kannur, and runs the new BOT bus stand as Kannur. dunno how comfortable families would be here. |
Bombay Hotel, Payyanur is there more than 50year and always used to maintain their standard. This is only Veg
For Non-Veg, try in Hotel Top Star, Top Form, KK residency (costly)

For the adventurous, there is one unnamed place opposite the ICH, ground floor of State Bank of Travancore at Caltex Junction, which has good Chicken dry fry, sold by weight only in late evenings. (do not try anything else here).
For the veggies - there is a "prakriti" restaurant, about 200 M towards Kozhikode side, from Caltex junction, on the left hand side. The board is small, and the place itself is a bit off the road, down an alley. Bharath, On railway station road, for veggies. |
Also try in Hotel NVK for Non-Veg. Their Service used to be pathetic

Aruljyothi in Statue was good for Chilli Porotta
There was one Kerla Delux in the status Jn. on the way to Govt. Hospital. They used to serve Appam in the evening, which was very good. Its around 6yrs I visited TVM, so no idea now.
There used to many small "Chayakadas" in the west fort area which serves good snacks, Dosas and Sevas.

Across Kasaragod district, in the NH area, the hotels are little scarry as there will be lots of flys on the dining table even if the buildings are good.
The Nalanda resort in Nileswar is very good for Lunch and sea foods
