Simpolo is not exactly a new entrant, they have been around at least since 2009. I have wash basins of made by Simpolo having bought in Feb-March 2009.

Just two weeks after I started this thread and promptly received much-needed gyan from the team members.

Happy to tell you that the basins still look like new.

Re: All about Bathroom fittings and plumbing

For concealed cisterns, please check that spare parts are available individually . For my previous flat, the washer for the flush wore out in 2 years and was not available stand alone. I had to change the whole fitting costing 1400 for a washer which would be costing about Rs 5.

I unfortunately don't remember the brand but my plumber told me other brands don't have this issue.

And no - I was not scammed. The plumber has worked for me for many years and is trustworthy.

Also, how do I estimate the cost of re-doing the entire bathroom?

Renovated bathroom an year back.....
  • Shortlised Jaquar after visiting their experience center in delhi lajpat nagar.
  • Also Jaquar has maximum warranty....10/7/5 yrs depending on part you selected.
  • Jaquar after sales service good in NCR.
  • Kohler too expensive, also heard its complaints with hard water and low water pressure (which is comman in India), so rejected inspite of great looks. Kohler - super delicate
  • My personal opinion to go with one single brand, so that service engineer follow up is easy in case of multiple issues. I personally felt it easy to coordinate. Engr came for one problem, and solved problem with one more Jaquar item in same visit, so it was easy for me

List of problems faced so far after 1 yr Jaquar usage:
  • Concealed Cistern frequently gave problems...few times water continuously dripping in WC. They replaced internal system of Cistern couple of time (of course free of cost being in warranty) but surprised if new replaced part also had same problem. Thinking if quality of Jaquar Cistern internal push parts is so bad. Need to spend time in raising complaint and then coordinating with engr on every visit. Once he said some mud got accumulated so internal push is leaking water, I again thought that Indian water will always have dust particles, my previous external Cistern worked 12 yrs without single repair, is new technology so delicate that require repair every 2 months Fortunately no issue from last 6 months
  • Shower area Diverter stopped working/low water once. He told same mud/dust particles deposited in diverter, he opened and remived some dust (so delicate )
  • Basin tap had slow water problem once, he showed how to open screw and remove waster (which will happen in every basin tap, so not a problem)
  • Our WC has soft close lid, now it starts falling down with speed instead of slow close. Need to raise complaint. Dont have time to coordinate

Overall I found Jaquar good, because of look, brand and specially 10 yr warranty on most items (I think systen, WC lid and shower has 5 yr) so free home service is peace of mind.

Imp point: If in multistory, make sure to replace all internal sewer pipes. It requires digging down few inches after removing floor tiles. These pipes are old and can get leakage, then person below your floor will complain of leakage on their roof and you have to dig floor tiles again. So make sure to replace internal sewer pipes and internal water pipes whenever renovating your bathroom
