Yesterday I got a mail that the F91W order has been cancelled due to a stock issue and today I got a similar mail that the LW-204 is also cancelled for the same reason.
I placed the order after confirming the watches were in stock. In fact you can't proceed to make a payment if they are not in stock. Very unprofessional on the part of Casio. And this is their official website not some third party reseller.

Yes. Mobile phones are banned on deck because of the fire hazard from the signal when you call or receive a call. The smartwatch is paired to the phone so they have banned these too. All equipment used on deck on a tanker like walkie talkies, gas measuring instruments, sonic tapes, flashlights, cameras etc have to be intrinsically safe or explosion proof. You do get intrinsically safe phones but they are very expensive. The ship is usually provided with one for official work.

CasioIndiaShop fulfils orders via authorised retailers, not from a central warehouse. When you do a pincode-based stock check on the site, it'll show you the details of the retailer your order is going to (sample below).

Post-order cancellations for fast-moving models are usually a case of inventory mismatch between the retailer and the online site.

Never nice to be left empty-handed after paying for a confirmed order, you might have better luck sourcing through your nearest authorised Casio retailer.

Mine sourced me a F91W strap replacement when even the authorised service centre couldn't get stock.

Re: Which watch do you own?

On the topic of Casios, I recently got this Lineage LCW-M100TS. Not a watch guy and this is my only the second watch in last 10 years finally retiring trusty old, battle worn Casio ProTrek. I got this because a) I knew Casio b) it looked cool c) had solar charging.

Had a hard time retiring the old ProTrek. Still perfectly functional despite numerous bumps on it. Continuous use involving daily showers, rides in the rain, numerous beach trips and dips in sea etc. and its still kicks.
The only few times I did not have that watch on my wrist was when I gave in to the hype and got smart watches (various generations of Samsung Galaxy watch that I got along with Samsung phones) and quickly gave up.

Since smartwatches came up, how many of you gave up and went back to non-smart watches?

Which watch do you own?-pxl_20250411_1912139822.jpg

The ProTrek had silicon strap. The metal strap on this isn't that comfortable or may be its a matter of getting used to but I am curious if there are better straps available that are not metal and would fit?

Re: Which watch do you own?

Hey! Congrats on your new watch!

Just wanted to understand the process in more detail.
I have never owned a luxury watch, daily go to watches for me is fossil or Seiko Presage or Tissot PRX.

I am planning to gift a watch to my dad, though unsure about the process on how to get on a waitlist and other steps. He loves watches but has never splurged, except once on a Swatch.
I guess the reply will help other details as well.

Though the color of your new watch looks beautiful
Thanks!

Re: Which watch do you own?

My wife gifted me a Tissot Seastar 1000 Powermatic 80 on my birthday recently. She knew I liked this model as I was doing some browsing on this one. Its a divers watch from Tissot with a compact 40mm diameter. Suits me perfectly and am very happy with it. First time ever I got an automatic.

Got it from the Indiranagar branch of Helios in Bangalore.

I got the Turquoise-Black dial with steel case. It stands out when you compare with the other dials grey and blue. But grey and blue also carry their own charm.
Some snaps, pls excuse my photography skills.

The attractive face, graded turquoise shade

The neat tapered strap

The transparent casing, to get a glimpse of the mechanics

Power reserve is slightly more than 2 days in real world though the claim is around 80 hours. All other details & specs are available in the net.

From a usage point of view I find it easy, comfortable and compact for my wrists. In fact this is the smallest I have in terms of diameter amongst the current set I have.

Couple of things that stood out for me is the graded dial finish, highly luminous hands and indices (which Tissot calls as 'Super-LumiNova' that provides a clear view in the dark), and the attractive metal strap. There are couple of slots within the strap case as well to increase or decrease the length.

What could have improved is the power reserve as I felt it lasts for around 48-50 hours only (am yet to check this exactly) and I need to get used to the manual winding every now and then.

With the parent Swatch, Irony series, that I got in 2006 and still works like a charm

Re: Which watch do you own?

Had to struggle and long hard to get this one eventually from the AD in Paris.

No chance of getting this in India. Had to go through a relative who has a major spend history at the dealer. This one is for a lifetime. I don’t know whether I enjoy cars more or watches!!

The order went through and after a week got the email that it's cancelled due to no stock. Fortunately I had saved the same in Myntra cart and got the notification that the watch is back in stock, ordered immediately and got it in a day! Needless to say it looks great and she loved it!

Re: Which watch do you own?

A good friend of mine gifted me this DWC Devanagri Chronograph recently (42mm version) and I absolutely adore it. I put it on a Khadi strap from Hello EDC (definitely not sponsored - but with the number of straps I buy from these guys, they should consider it ).

I really like the old school rectangular watches, but never was a fan of bracelets. I took my dad's old guess collection watch and swapped out the bracelet for a suede strap from you guessed it, Hello EDC

Re: Which watch do you own?

Want to invest in my first luxury watch. Currently i have couple of Tissot’s and Apple Ultra 2.

Confused between Brietling Super Avenger (45 mm) and Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean (44 mm).

Brietling is big (like big watches), around 1.5 lakhs cheaper than Omega and rare compared to Omega. I think it looks better in my hand. However this particular model seems to be out of production. Doesn’t seem to have equal brand value of Omega (i might be wrong here).

Omega Seamaster is an iconic model and might fetch better value later if I sell. Also looks more classy and versatile than Brietling.

Any suggestions on these 2 or any other in the range of 7 lakhs? Since I have bigger arms, need 44mm atleast.

Utsav, thanks a lot for your suggestions. I picked up the Black Bay Pro yesterday. Pelagos felt too light and small (to my eyes).

My personal pick will be the Omega. Its a beautiful clean watch and even better as your first luxury watch. Keep us posted on what you get finally.

Re: Which watch do you own?

I would definitely vote for Omega for the elegance and aura it carries. Its in my wishlist and of many other watch aspirants

No offence, Brietling as per me looks bit cluttered and too much metal.

I finally managed to get the F91W at Krishna Watch Company, Meerut. Had to pay Rs.75/- for shipping though.

I liked the "invest" part. Many people overlook this.

Considering the F91W is not that rugged, why not a GShock or Tough Solar?

Another vote for the Seamaster. You may look at the Speedmaster too but personally, I didn't find it that impressive on the wrist.

Another vote for the Omega. I really do quite like several Breitling too but as an only and first luxury watch and between these two, it’s the Omega I’d pick. Looks classier and less busy too IMO

Don’t hang your hat too much on resale for either. While Omega might be slightly better than Breitling, both are the sort that will drop value to a meaningful extent the moment they’re out the door. Neither is the sort that will hold or appreciate in value over time.
