This has been my daily watch since the last 7 years. The leather strap was changed last year to a cheap steel strap that i got from Amazon since i wasn't sure of the lug size. I feel the watch makes me look more important than what i really am and so never complained.

Posting a few photos of the collection I found at home. I would'nt call it my collection, as most of these are my dads and since he lost interest in them, most of them are not functional. Need help from Swatch owners in bengaluru to get these watches repaired.

1) Casio



Purchased by my dad in 1994. Does not work and seems to have a Semi digital dial. Need to see if we can get this repaired.

2) Swatch Irony (2005?)



Bought for my grandfather by my parents but he tried to wind the watch due to which its not working anymore. Need some leads for this.



3) (Another) Swatch (circa 2000)



This belongs to my dad and it does'nt work, need some workshop leads for getting this repaired.

4) Timex



Gifted to my dad by mom, not working.


5) Sunshine watch



Bought by my dad in Thailand, dosent work.


6)Titan edge



This golden watch is my dad's wedding watch, around 22 years old.

7) Fastrack Dagger shaped watch



Still runs but need to find a suitable strap for it.

8) Casio 10 year batter (Desert storm)



This belongs to me and is about a month old.

9) Fastrack Dezire FX1 pro



Got this last week, will share a review soon.

10) Titan



An old broken titan watch I found.

11)Titan Chronograph



Looks cool, need to get it repaired though.


Apart from this I also have a fastrack analogue watch about 4 years old, which I am yet to find.

Request BHpian's help in locating suitable repair shops for the Swatch's.

It was so nice to see pretty good watches here in this thread. I am a fan of analogue watches or analogue speedometers.

Adding 2 of my favorite and close to heart watches of mine -

1. Fast track - bought this in June, 2010 for about 750 Rupees after 6 months of starting my job. Even though I had watches before, all of them were my father’s old ones but this was the first watch which was bought new for me specifically for the first time. Apart from battery swaps, it is still going strong. Found a replacement for the strap recently. This has been my sentimental watch for any big thing - a job interview or a travel or a long drive. Had used it in heavy rains too !!
2. Fossil - dual dial : Bought this in February, 2016 from a factory outlet in USA for $160 or $170. Battery replaced twice so far. It came in a box with total 3 straps - 2 leather and one metal

Note : I remember watching a scene in Kamal Hassan’s Pushpak movie in which a 2 dial watch is shown - one side had analogue and the other side is digital. I wish I can get such a watch sometime !

Hi,

I went to the Ethos store at Mall of India, Noida. Was looking for a Longines Hydroconquest watch.

However, on looking at the watch in the store, I found some irregularities with the paint and finish of the watch.

If you look at the Longines paint at numeral 6 and 9, as well as the way "Swiss Made" is written, you will see that the finish is absolutely bad. Even Tag Heur's finish was below my expectations. Could it be that these guys are doing shady stuff on the side? Am I overthinking or should one buy such watches from their official stores only?

I clicked a pic of another watch from the same store and the finish was much better in this watch. Seiko Astron from the Seiko store located in the same mall has finish which is miles ahead of the Longines one.

Just got delivery of this cheap little new HMT - and somehow can't believe how good it looks! Steal of a deal priced at just Rs 697/-





I wanted a classic, cheap, simple daily because I wear a fitbit tracker on the right arm for all other metrics. But this looks so good out of the box - I'm wondering if I should use it as a daily or keep it for occasions. Hope it lasts!

PS: This isnt a classic HMT - but for that I have a Kohinoor mechanical handwound which is very close to heart.

Funnily I have also experienced the same thing, somehow the finish on the TAG is nothing much to write about. I have a Seiko Prospex World Time piece and its finish is much superior to the Tissot's of the world and definitely on par with a TAG. The funny part is it costs about 1/3rd the price of an Astron which retails from 175000. The Finish on the Astron is par excellence and much ahead than the Longines, TAG's and Rados ( excluding the hyperchrome models). Can't say if it's something which ethos does or the overall finishing is an issue.

Many years while shopping for a watch, I too felt the finish of a Raymond Weil (which i ended up buying) was much more superior compared to a much more expensive TAG!

Sporting my HMT Pilot Mechanical Hand Wound watch this Independence Day.


Seems like HMT no longer has mechanical hand wound watches on their website since a long time. Maybe they've exhausted their inventory of mechanical hand wound movements and respective models.

Current daily use watches are as follows:

1) a special edition Titan watch gifted by my company (30%).
2) Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 (non LTE) (70%)

Watch for certain "occasions" is one gifted by my wife- a Tissot. And she wears the one I gifted her too !
