Re: Which watch do you own?

Here's mine; in my opinion, it's one of the best-looking automatic watches from Titan.

Currently, my daily office wear is a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4.

Re: Which watch do you own?

Which is the better store to buy watches from, Helios or Ethos? Both, online & off-line. Secondly, is it safe to buy watches directly from Seiko / Tissot website (official)?

Re: Which watch do you own?

Watch 1: My uncle gifted me this watch after returning from their Europe Tour.

Which watch do you own?-padamwatch1.jpeg
Which watch do you own?-padamwatch2.jpeg

Name: Jacques du Manoir (Quartz-Swiss Made)
Year: May-2013
Service: Replaced its battery twice and did cleaning once.
Usage: Once a Week.
Condition: Good, the belt is in pristine condition. No scratched or loose.

A little Story about this Watch: Just a few days before the lockdown(March 2020), I gave this watch to a local shopkeeper for its battery replacement, and I forgot to take it back.
After a month, I realized my mistake, and I was completely blank about what to do next as I didn't have the shop number.
A few days later, I searched this shop on Google and found a number. I dialed it and informed the owner about the scene. He remembered and promised me to keep it safe.
Around November 2020 I visited the shop and enquired about my watch. The owner refused and argued about who would keep the stuff for so long. Upon requesting he asked me to visit after 3-4 days as he was busy with work and informed me that he would check in his store.
I told this story to my younger brother and together we visited the shop after 4 days. Initially, we politely asked about the watch and the owner told us casually he was not able to find the watch. My brother got angry and started speaking louder and ordered the owner to start searching for the watch right away. My brother requested me to show the pic of the watch so that the shop owner can find it easily.
During this, the shop owner called someone and asked to check at different locations. A couple of minutes later the other person called and requested to come there(maybe another shop or his home). After waiting for 20-25 minutes the owner came back and he removed the watch from his hand and handed it over to me saying, is this yours?
Without delay, I confirmed and paid the service amount and we left. That was a sign of relief and feeling like we won it.
After 8 months of disconnect, I was able to get my watch back.

Watch 2: I was looking for a Digital watch for daily usage.

Which watch do you own?-padamwatch4.jpeg

Name: Garmin Venu SQ 2
Year: May-2023
Service / Issues: No Issues so far.
Usage: Daily.
Battery Life: 5-6 Days on a single charge.
Price: MRP: 27,990/- (Got a deal of Flat 5K off on Icici Card)
Purchase Store: Helios Watch Store - By Titan.
Cons: The display seems basic and has no engaging UI as compared to Amazfit, Fastrack or Boat watches available in market.

While I cant claim to be a huge fan of Rolex (for varied reasons), damn, that is one hard-to-get one!

I have bought multiple watches from Ethos (off-line) but with the initiation point being their website. Plus, I have bought watches directly from Seiko and Casio sites without any issues. Just make sure you have landed on the genuine website when you google it up in the first place!

Re: Which watch do you own?

Adding a question here related to solar watches. Moderators - you may remove if not in rules.
I have a Seiko Solar watch gifted to my better half. From many years this needs battery replacement. I found only one authentic seiko service center. It is in Kerala. They asked me to ship it there and add a cost to ship it back after battery is replaced?
Is it safe to send it by courier?
Since it’s a USD 480 watch I don’t know if the risk is worth it.
Please advise.
Particularly whoever use Solar watches and Seiko brand.
Any service center in Hyderabad would be great.

According to this link, there are 2 service centres in Bengaluru and 1 in Chennai too. Nothing in Hyderabad though.

Re: Which watch do you own?

I have had bunch of entry level watches like Casio edifice, Timex, Guess, Citizen solar but lost a whole lot of them over time. The ones left are a Invicta diver automatic ~ 120 dollars and a Hamilton jazz master day date which I got on eBay for around 450 euros (new one costs like 850).

My trusted daily driver is the Apple Watch Series 6, which I will replace when the time comes with another.

Re: Which watch do you own?

Hi all,

There is a possibility of setting up to three time zones, right.

How should I set it up to show the following time zones.
Local - Sweden.
Dubai.
India.

I could set up only two time zones in my Rolex GMT. Don't know if three zones are possible.
