Congratulations! Would you mind sharing where you got it from and for how much?

Picked up my first g-shock (gmw-b5000) , full metal 5000, a couple of weeks back. A stunning piece. Being a bit careful with it as the metal finish across the board (square shaped watch and bracelet) is perfect and i don't want to ding it up.

You can go to any store, they may or may not charge a small fee. If you have the tools, you could watch a video on YouTube and do it yourself too.

Stunning indeed.

I am interested. Send me the pics when you have the phone and a price. Whether my wife will be willing to consider a used watch is another question, but, c'est la vie

re: Which watch do you own?

Got my Seiko Presage back for the 2nd time from the service centre & I'm happy to report that its working flawlessly as earlier.

I had specifically asked for the movement to be changed. I was informed by the service centre in Ernakulam that they have indeed changed the entire movement. Thankfully they did it under warranty else damages would have been around 5k. On me asking them what would be the warranty for this new movement, I was informed that there's no separate warranty & it would relate back to the date of purchase!

So my Seiko Presage is back after a service.
Now the bad part. The watch continues to gain about 5mins in 1 hour. Now its gained about half hour in the past 6hrs or so.

The lack of warranty is a little strange. I had trouble with a basic Swatch after 1 year of ownership, and they not only replaced it with a brand new one, but also gave me a fresh 2 year warranty!

Either way, at least your watch is running properly again.

No, it's pretty standard and not strange at all for all products not just watches.

The warranty starts from when the watch was paid for. It doesn't get reset each time the warranty is honoured with replacement or repair.

Warranties cost money & it's built into the product cost. When you paid for the product, you got a warranty for X years and that's what companies should honour.

re: Which watch do you own?

I have a Titan Fastrack and its a very nice watch I feel. It looks very classy. It was gifted to me by my dad and he has great taste in such things. It’s an analog watch. But it does not glow at night! About the only feature I miss.

re: Which watch do you own?

Have been trying to get my Seiko Automatic working again, and since the parts are not available I was looking at a replacement movement. I have spotted one and the seller says that the movement has been regulated and now has:

error: -0.7s per day
Amplitude: 141 deg
Beat Error: 0.2ms

Was trying to look up these values, and the Beat error looks good. However, not able to figure out if the Amplitude is good or not. I am not getting the reference values for the movement in my model. Different sites only mention that the Amplitude should be between 275-315.

Wasnot able to find answers to my questions. But came across another movement for sale on eBay. Got to wait another month before I can get my hands on it.
