Lovely choices for your vacation. I would have equally had a hard time in leaving out the JLC.

Many thanks for liking the watches.
That's the thing about JLC, a true watch aficionado will know what it is and some one who is not into their watches will never notice.
There has been a few instances where I have walked to a stranger and complimented them on their JLC and vice versa and it always strikes a right chord. Doesn't matter if you are wearing it or if you see it on some one else's wrist, it always brings a smile on your face.

I feel somehow a Patek or A.Lange or an AP miss that character.

How good are the Orient watches?

I am looking for a sub 200$ submariner type automatic watch which can do duty as my daily beater and my first choice is a Seiko Sea Urchin (SNZF17) but I can see that the availability is very limited. So, as a fall back plan if I fail to get the Seiko, I was thinking of Orient CEM65001B (Black Mako) \ EM75001B

Orient watches are good I have one which is more than 30 years old. Orient Mako series are good, go ahead and buy!

Here is the pic of my Orient - after DIY makeover!

I own this
http://www.amazon.com/Seiko-SKX007K-...s=seiko+skx007

Been using it for more than a year now, had to regulate it once, been working like clockwork ever since.

I've been toying with the idea of buying a Pebble Steel but just read the other day that Apple's iWatch could go on sale in September. Maybe I should wait till then.

My requirement is firstly a smartwatch that's "always " showing time, without having to switch it on or tap it or shake it or anytihng. So far only Pebble watches satisfy this requirement. Unfortunately, it is a little slim on the feature set (basically a watch that gets notifications through Bluetooth from a paired smartphone).

Thoughts? Feedback?

My latest waste of money. A Casio Edifice that has tide functions that are very useful to determine flooding in Bombay, a thermometer that is only accurate if you take off the watch and leave it for about twenty minutes and all the other bells and whistles, including five alarms, a stopwatch, world time and a countdown timer.

It's been my daily beater for about a month and the glass is holding up way better than the glass on Seiko.

Looks cool, can we have more pics? Also, how much does it cost?

Thanks man. It cost me 11,395 although the price is now lower on Amazon. EDIT: can't seem to add pictures as it gives me some sort of security error on the Android app

http://www.amazon.in/gp/aw/d/B00GSLX...98841_M3C_dp_1

Here is what I have. Both received as gifts :D

1) Rolex Date Just. Really do not know the year but was in the family for over 10 years now. I received this as gift from my dad in 2008. Been with me ever since. The best part (or the technology involved here) is there is no need to hand wind or batteries needed. Just wear it and it will run. If I don’t pick it up for two days, it sort of goes into hibernation. Pick it up, wear it on my wrist - and there she comes alive. Just need to correct the time and date though !

2) Hugo Boss – Not really sure how to look up the model number for this, but it has HB 23.1.14.203 written on the back case. Is that the model number? This is my daily wear now.

Regards
Bugs

Here's my recent purchase. Didn't wanted to spend much as i already have a few, so bought a Slim Edition Timex for my regular office wear. Including a pic of my old collection as well where a G Shock is missing. Those are (from left to right) Casio Edifice, Playboy, Casio ironman waveceptor, Fossil and Timex expedition.

No worries bro.

Do let us know when you get your new watch :)

This is my watch. Was just going through the thread and boy was drolling on all these beauties. Although I really want to own a Seiko and Omega in the near future. :)

Got myself a HMT Janata in Devanagari script today (at last) for Rs.1000. Funny thing is, after a lot of searching throughout Pune, I found it in a small watch shop right around the corner in my colony! stupid:

Which watch do you own?-janata1.jpg

Btw, Flipkart and Snapdeal are selling this Janata for 2k, the Janata with all numbers in Devanagari for 3k and the Pilot for 4k!! :Shockked:

Cheers,
Vikram
