I get a lot of calls from Country Club, which I do not entertain at all. It has become a nuisance.

+1 to that. I'm a member of Club Mahindra and have had especially positive experiences in the last 5 years. Have been to their resorts in Kerala (all A+ grade) and the Varca Beach property in Goa (again, super facility).

I can understand some people having a problem with their sales & marketing team...but any club mahindra members regret enrolling? If so, why?

Well i am not a member in club mahindra, but still few of my friends and cosins , incluing me rcvd the free stay coupon from Club Mahindra, Same source like at the parking lot of Malls we filled up the coupons.

Its true that they will force you to Open an account with them to enjoy the club membership, and your Holidays throughout their resorts in India as well tie up companies abroad with 7 star facilities.

You still have the option to deny or accept the membership option, and you can ask for the free coupon , as far as they are calling you stating that you have WON a free stay coupon with Club Mahindra.

The Coupon is Valid for 6 Months
You can choose any destination with club Mahindra for your free stay of 2 Nights and 3 days except few of newly opened reorts like one in Ooty and some other places. (Only in Peak Season)

For food they have Buffet system, per head they charge INR 650 (BF-LNCH-DINNER)

You need not to pay for anything unless you go for the food option, you can even take your food outside the resorts. Its just an option.

My case is almost similar and I too have a good experience with Club Mahindra availing free gift voucher.

I got a call and attended their 2 Hrs presentation. They might try to lured people saying this offer is valid only for today and you may miss this opportunity if not acted now. Many fall in this trap & pay atleast token amount and regret later.

In my case, I was firm and not wanted to go with ClubMahindra, They later at the end of presentation gave me the free gift voucher as promised. This is 3D/2N stay at any of their property other than Goa and few more.

I opted for Munnar, reserved 2 days stay at ClubMahindra Munnar. It was very good and I enjoyed the stay & their service. There is no single paisa charge extra (I was expecting service Tax or something like that) and that says everything. Food as many said, Its charged only if you eat there, Completely optional. We had coulple of meal there and paid only for that. Though food seems bit expensive, Its absolute worth for the number of dishes available.

One more issues people usually face while availing gift voucher is "Sorry, we are completely booked". People tend to book few days before their journey and face this issue. if one tries to spot book the room or even with one month of advance planning, They may not be able to get the confirmation and eventually their voucher becomes useless. . or sometimes with smaller notice, You may not be able to get your desired destination.

In my case, I booked 4 months before And they have no other option than accepting my reservation . I suggest to use online website to book rather than calling their customer service. It worked well for me.

Regards

Its not their service for members that should be questioned.
its their hard-sell techs later that annoy all sanity out of your head!!
I was at a haldiram's some time back, and filled up a coupon from Club-mahindra guys.
week later, they call me,tell me "free vacation, come and visit us,see our presentation, free gift also, we are in ansal plaza."
unfortunately, so was i, and i said, gimme 2minutes, i'll juts come up to your office.
so this rep seats us in front of a monitor, and tells us that before anything we have to sit through this presentation.
Now i was planning to take a vacation in early december, so i met up with these guys, that if i can somehow align the planets, i can use their offer and save some money.
didnt work out.I asked him before his "movie" if i would be able to book for december.
he said no, i said thank you, and walked out.
and then his boss started calling me.
1st call:sir, take 2 free gifts!::click!!::
2nd call(the exec):sir, please come once more, we'll make a better offer!::click!!::
3rd call(manager again):sir what do you want, i am giving you free gift, free vacation, and you are hanging up on me?(all in hindi,ok..sounds much ruder in hindi)
by this time, i am fuming, and i walk into his office, while he is still in the process of hanging up....and he found out where he can stuff his gifts.
A couple of families sitting there also decided to move on, once they got to know the actual "deal", and what happens when you say no to the "mob"!!

I once ended up paying the membership fee after listening to their spiel. But immediately after that, within 20 minutes, I changed my mind and asked them for a refund. They gave me the free vacation coupons but I had to make numerous phone calls, speak to the branch head and wait for 4 months before the sent me a complete refund. It was a mixed experience, I must say

Good to hear that. In country vacation, they give similar coupon, but it is attached with a booking or service charge of 5000

Re: Curious case of club Mahindra

Interesting thread since I just booked few days for my father and friends at Coorg. My take on the CM membership is to treat it like an investment. If you take vacations every year, stay in good hotels, enjoy travelling and have some spare cash - then this is for you. The sales people have got their pitch perfect in this perspective and the numbers speak for themselves. If you plan well in advance it goes really well. The resorts are top notch and facilities/food excellent.

Downside - The booking process is pathetic and if you don't book in advance, slim chance of getting prime days during peak season. Resort facilities are charged exorbitantly!

I recently had the need to book a taxi through a travel agent. He held couple of memberships himself. Knowing seasons and demand, he books prime slots well in advance at leading resorts. This he sells them as guest usage to customers making a packet for himself and denying other members genuine opportunities to use vacations. This IMO should be stopped by CM.

Re: Curious case of club Mahindra

I am looking for feedback on Club Manhindra from existing members. My friend just enrolled in White membership. How is the availability, resort maintenance, support, hidden chargs etc?

This is the right thread to go through for reviews. Multiple other forums on the 'net will also give a perspective on CM.

My 2 cents as a member - plan well in advance, if possible go for mid week vacation days. He will get better rooms that way. If your friend has school going children, thus limiting the months to vacation - better to upgrade to Red. He can still avail Blue/White season days with increase in the days entitlement. Some resorts do not have staff rooms for drivers - should check up on that in case going in hired car.

Re: Curious case of club Mahindra

I was never / will never be interested in these clubs and closing my options of choices according to my wish.
On other hand, I do give the name/number to the person when they approach coz it fetches them 2 to 5 Rs. per form

Its not only Mahindra Holidays but almost all clubs now a days and it is not only Malls but Petrol Pumps as well where you can encounter your lucky draw.
