Just search for Airtel appellate authority on Google and you will get a pdf that has the email addresses of the responsible person per region.

The appellate authority was good at sending messages saying that its being worked upon but things really got moving after a complain was raised on Consumer helpline and issue was resolved. Thank God

Re: The Airtel Thread

Configured autopay on the Airtel thanks App last month and was waiting for the payment deduction to happen automatically.

The bill got generated and no autopay happened and due date got past with late payment penalty.

Checked to confirm that autopay is properly configured on both the App and gpay and yet it didn't work. Pretty bad service.

In help section, you can claim late fees back. At least it worked for broadband last month.

Ditto experience for me. For now, I've reconciled to setting a calendar reminder for manual pay ! For such a large service provider, the Airtel Thanks App experience is woeful.

Need help with a damaged SIM card - Airtel India

Hey guys,

Please let me know what I can do in such a situation.

I have been using my mobile phone number for over 10+ years. It is an Airtel SIM card - Postpaid.

Sometime last week while I was travelling and I saw that I wasn't able to receive any calls or SMS and NO sim card showing up on my phone. It is an iPhone 12.

Once I was back to Bangalore, I visited the Airtel store in Kammanahalli, Bangalore.

I was told that the SIM is damaged/corrupted and I need to get a new one.

Now coming to the issue, the SIM card I've been using all these years was bought on my ex-girlfriends name and for them to provide a new SIM card they need her presence. We have been out of touch for years now. There is no way for me to contact her.

Any suggestions what can be done? All the banks, AADHAR and all my important documents/clients/friends have the same number which I have been using for years.

If you can send and receive SMS temporarily, change your operator (e.g., Jio) through MNP.

Create a port code and go to new operator with your id (name, address). You will get sim in your name. If you want, change to Airtel after 90 days.

I think you only have one option as far as I know -

Please speak to your friend and get the new SIM, against your current mobile number, with her help. In parallel get a new SIM, with a new number, against your name and change everything from current mobile number to your new mobile number.

Try using the SIM in a different phone. If that works, start the porting process; clear all dues + pay some more and then port out to a different operator.

Porting out is the only option. Clear the current dues and Port to Vi or Jio with your Documents. After a 90-day period, you can port to Airtel again.

Re: The Airtel Thread

There were recent press reports that Airtel has introduced no-data plans for prepaid connections:

https://www.moneycontrol.com/technol...-12917238.html

But I am unable to find these plans in the app or on the website. Anyone knows how I can purchase them?

They slyly removed the 6GB data which came with the plan which was handy when you required that little of data in emergency when you either exhausted your main data or the other SIM provider network data wasn't working. And reduced minuscule amount.

And guess what? Jio followed the Suit.

Just check Rs.499 (which was Rs.508 with 6GB data) and Rs.1959 plans on their website.

Re: The Airtel Thread

Is there an escalation email for Airtel Broadband (Mumbai)? I have been charged 2,800.00 on my current broadband bill as one-time old to new connection charges. This comes as a surprise to me and none of the Airtel customer care support executive is able to answer my question - what are these charges against? My old connection? Can I know the duration? If there was a bill due, why was my move request connection accepted? Why I being charged after 3-months on the new connection?

It has been 14 days since I raised my query, instead of answering, they are telling me to pay the bill else my internet services will be disconnected.

Tweet to them about this issue, they are a lot more receptive to social media complaints compared to the reaching them through their customer service. Along with that, send them an email, marking a copy to the ombudsman, That should get them to start moving.

ps - assuming you truly did not have any past dues, irrespective of the duration.

On twitter, every time a new tech is assigned and a standard response is sent to me, we will check and get back shortly. Just their bots at work! I checked my bills, the last amount due on old connection was 171 bucks which was processed after my shifting request. I have got 2 calls since morning and no one knows what this one time payment is for. They have asked me to hold-on for 4 hrs and will get back to me.

The only explanation is - they have charged me on my old connection for the 3months as advance rental since the amount matches. No other explanation. I have asked them to send me a copy of the bill against which the amount is due.

P.S: I wrote to 121 and got a bounce back to send the email from registered email ID, funny, I sent the email from where I receive eBills. I also copied their grievance address and appellate (Mumbai). Hoping I get some resolution.
