Liverpool Win the Champions League

Last night saw a great match between AC Milan of Italy and Liverpool of England to fight for the European Champions crown.
AC milan were neat during the first half and took an un assailable lead of 3-0 by half time.
Wonder what rafa benetez said to his players in the half time talk, they came out blazing in the second half lead by insporational captain Steven Gerard, in a span of 6 minutes liverpool scored 3 goals to level the match at 3-3.
In extra time it was Dudek the liverpool keeper who made a fantastic double save and saved the day for his side, penalties and both side missed some chances. It was upto svchenko to make it 3-3 from the spot , he was the guy who scored the winning penaly in last yaers finals, it was sad to see his shot saved and AC milan loose 3-2 on penalties.

FACTS --- the previos 2 times that liverpool have won the european cup the pope has died and the prince has got married in the same year.

Teams to watch out for next season, REAL MADRID, CHELSEA, BARCELONA, MANCHESTER UNITED

personally i am a REAL madrid fan

Very surprising indeed because my friend who saw half of the match told me in the morning that Liverpool was thrashed by Milan. Later he was shocked to see that Liverpool has won the Champions cup.
I too like RealMadrid. But they are not living up to the expectation.

Barca fan here...No offense but most Real Madrid/Man Utd fans are Ferrari fans as well...Can you guess why?

Anyways congrats to Liverpool...superb comeback last night to win it.
I believe Chelsea can do it next season under Mourinho though.

edt-
sivadas: Real have made wrong choices when buying and selling players...they want to run a business than winning football matches...is what you think when you see what is happening..
The galactico policy of buying big name players every season (Figo, Zidane, Beckham, Owen) has backfired now since they have all the big egos (not necessarily in good form) so you can hardly drop them from the side too........tough when you keep changing coaches mid-season too! Now that Luxemburgo is there things are better, but it was stupid to let Raul play all th time w/o scoring....and sell Makelele to Chelsea, and buy Owen and not let him play!

Of course who can forget that Morientes (in his best form) was loaned to Monaco last year just cause there was no place with Raul and Ronaldo up front....and he was the guy who scored Vs them to kick them out ot champions league....funny eh!

hard core madrid fan
so cannot see my team being pushed down so badly
agree the players are good
but there is no ego involved they all play as a team very well

there is no other better passsing team than real madrid in the world,
its just that they did not settle under a coach since del bosque
now they are settling under luxemburgo
next season they will rock the league and champions
owen has no problems of he not starting games cause he is scoring everytime he comes to play
and if you have noticed raul has been playing well off late, but i wonder how long before he returns to his vaselino style of scoring

barca are also good , they have only one awesome play maker RONALDINIOH
he is god of central midfield

Ego or no ego madrid have their own style of playing amazing soccer

makelele to chelsea was cause chelsea showed him more money
Real madrid have created greats such as zeedorf, makelele, geremi, ......

anyways just waiting for next UEFA CL campaign to start

Scarlet I wasnt putting them down..thy were observations from a footballing view...
dont you think there are too many glamour/business minded player signings since Perez is president of Madrid ?

Look at Porto...with hard working players (no stars) and Jose M they became champs of Europe....Also letting Samuel Eto'o last season to Barca ...and look what happened...that decision has come to bite them on the ass!

Eto'o has been awesome all year and has scored heavily....
I agree with the Luxemburgo thing thats what i said if you notice. If you think Owen has no problems think again...he came to Madrid but has hardly started due to Raul being there.
Yes he has scored in the matches he started though......and thats what his talent is wasted

Barca has shown great skills and good football with players who are not just stars but actually want to display their football skill...

Dinho is amazing yep, but you cannot forget contributions of Marquez, Giuly, Puyol, Deco and mostly Eto'o

Hopefully we can have more football discussions....mate....nice to know some fans around

Its football ! not soccer ..unless you are American

Pavon isnt exactly great though and Raul Bravo is errm dodgy.....Rumours are that Carlos is going and Figo too as he isnt happy to be on the bench..and they now want Adriano!
Where will he fit.....they already have too many great strikers..

Anyways we are going off topic, but since you are the thread starter I hope you wont mind hehe ...
