Jana Gana Mana-Malayalam-Prithviraj-Malayalam- In Theaters

Really liked this one. Centered around the alleged murder of a popular college professor played by Mamta Mohandas. Suraj plays the investigative officer and Prithviraj an advocate. The twists are pretty good, keep coming and when you think you have it figured out, the goal post moves out further. Both Suraj and Prithviraj do well along with the rest of the cast. It also cleverly utilizes several real life incidents.

On the down side, the first half moves at a slower pace and then too many things are crammed into the second half. In addition as already mentioned in the interviews and reviews, there is a 2nd part to this to detail out Prithviraj's character and story. This one leaves us with glimpses of it which make it feel a little incomplete.

A refreshing movie after Beast & KGF. Vijay Sethupathi as usual, steals the show aided by Nayanthara and Samantha. Would rate in 4/5. Different storyline and very little masala here and there. Nice twist at the end.

India govt should take action to hand over this movie to the armed forces and somehow telecast it to terrorists who plan to attack our country. 100% guarantee, the terrorists would blow and kill themselves after seeing this movie. And we would never ever have to worry about any attack . Thats how fabulous this movie is.

Vijay, director nelson and team should receive a special award for making such movies that has potential of saving the world.

Alas,we viewers will be in despair.

Have to agree with you. The film is such a colossal failure. I cannot imagine now the studio greenlit this film. The writing was lazy, direction was lazy and the acting even worse.

I had given this 0.5 star for the Halamithi song choreography and back ground score (theatre effect).

- from someone who was brave enough to watch this flick in theatre.

Comedy on our senses, If a movie has failed in every department it is BEAST. No story, no structure, no interest ... makes it a careless film. Vijay fans were making big claims on Twitter but this is a big setback for cinema.

This was arguably the funniest movie of this year. The ending with the fighter jet was the icing on the top.

Nothing in the movie made any sense.

Absolutely! I watched the whole thing yesterday and was thoroughly entertained with the absurdity. So much that it almost felt like a spoof movie

For some reason, I continued watching the movie as I have hardly seen any Vijay movies yet. But my god, the supporting cast of actors, especially that security firm manager & his cohorts- is this even comedy ? And that sinister minister with prime ministerial pretentions? Was it a deliberate caricature ? The only redeeming feature was the absolutely-on-point dancing by Vijay in Halimiti Habibo. But why that deadpan dialogue delivery whether English, Tamil or Hindi ( used a fair bit in the movie)?
The heroine typically doesnt have much to do, except look scared, awestruck or angry (in a very silly way actually).

Review : Just keep your brain outside when you watch this movie and it might not be a bad movie. It's better than Salman Khan's "Bhai" type movies
