I hate luv stories - This is the kind of movie which does not even deserve a review 1/5 if you ask me.
First of all, the lead actors do not know how to act. Imran Khan tries to cry but on screen it appears he is laughing. There is no chemistry. The story is so cliched with every moment predictable. The humor is a rehash of what you see in earlier movies. As for Sonam and Imran, she looks the man and he looks the girl. Heck, they should have taken a bigger guy or a smaller girl. Looks like laurel and hardy

When will Bollywood industry stop forcing their relatives/sons/daughters on us

Every film actor's sibling has a set guideline ( to easy money) as soon as they reach 18.

Go to US and join an acting school for 2 years, spent huge amounts of money on their makeover including their physical appearance like whiten skin, whiten teeth and god knows what else. Come back to India and torture we poor audience.

Imran Khan, Esha Deol, Ritesh Deshmukh, Sonam Kapoor, Uday Chopra, Some Khan ( son of Sanjay Khan), Kamal Hassan's daughter etc..are amongst many such classic examples of above.

Another band of such actors coming to make a hash of our brains are Pratiek Babbar, Luv, Kush and their sister Sonakshi Sinha. Hope they turn out to be decent but, going by their looks they dont look like that.

Only exception is Ranbir Kapoor, all others to be politely requested to turn around make a beeline OUT of the industry.

After posting my comments below, i was towed by wifey to watch "I hate Luv Stories" last night. Even after showing her all reviews here, she wanted to see ( God, All women are alike). I resisted, played dead and tried every trick in the book but, was dragged physically to the theatre. Now we are counting the money that we wasted

Summary of Movie : Cliched Story, Director went on a vacation to NZ leaving the movie in doldrums, Dialogue writer switched on the mind that he owned when he was in kindergarten, All Actors : Confused bunch of folks hamming in front of the camera throughout the movie

My take on main characters :-

Imran Khan : Less said the better about him. His facial expressions are a mockery to acting. One eyebrow up and twist of lips will get you a meaningful gesture? He thinks so. He copied Aamir Khan in quite a few scenes and he is not even a patch on him. Horrible dialogue delivery, No presence ( skinny vimp) and no acting. Only credit, he got nice eyes ( exactly like Aamir)

Sonam Kapoor: She is not fit for Bollywood but, for ramp walking. This dudette is too tall ( reckon taller than Deepika) to be in movies. Only Sanjay, Abhishek or another 6+ footer will suit her. Again horrible dialogue delivery, zilch acting and zero chemistry between Imran and her. I like her smile, it can knock you off her feet but, then thats the only thing she can do. Show her teeth.

Samir Dattani : He looked like that Hutch's poodle. Always behind Sonam. Cant beileve you have guys like them in this age. Line them up against the wall and i'll come out all blazing

Highlight of the movie was those zany proverbs on Imran Khan fat friend's tees. That kept me going through the movie.

0.5/5 ( 0.5 for those lovely t-shirts...LOL)

Noticed how different she looks in each appearance she makes? And no, i am not referring to the movie. Trying extra hard to be the in thing.

Tanveer was right, sometimes she does look quite... manly.

To begin with, thank you everyone for saving my money and time. I was planning to watch I Hate Luv Storys.

Moving on, I guess, its been quite some time since we ve had a good Bollywood movie on the screens. Raavan, I Hate..., Kites, all these big banner hyped flicks have miserably bombed at the box office and with the audiences.

I have some hopes for Red Alert though. What do you folks think?

Oh Yeah ! Benny. I did see that, in some angles for sure.

It seems she was obese and now she is this slim self after a lot of activities ( not sure if it was exercising OR going under the knife)

Did you notice, she cant even contort her face to show that she is sad or falling in love with Imran Khan.

I feel sorry for her real boyfriend. He'll have to keep guessing of her true feelings

[quote=agspins;1216255]Gulal amazing movie....excellent performances...hats off to Piyush Mishra..thoughtful and intense lyrics...Must watch..
Pain and agony in movie either keeps you tied to seat or rather make you walk out( atleast 10 people walked from the show i attended)..

quote]

Finally caught up with Gulal over the weekend. The movie is too fast and scenes change abruptly keeping the audience guessing(hooked onto seats).

Piyush Mishra - The lyrics are out of the world. Some great satire and comparisions in lyrics.

I hate love stories is like what everyone said. Simply understand it is a one time watch. FOR FREE.

Spent 220 bucks on a ticket which i feel was a total waste! I feel Imran has been trying to copy Aamir from the first movie so it didnt come as a surprise. The songs were sad and ill placed. Zabardasti you gusaofy a song into a movie as u feel there is nothing else you could do! Ending was simply well understood from the mid and Sonam kapoor is ok ok but cannot take the place which i have reserved for a cute actress whose name i wont reveal now for other reasons.

Watch it if your being treated else sit at home and watch the highlights for the world cup. It is so much more fun then wasting your time in the theatre.

I agree with everything you've said except for the Bold part.
Shruti Hassan is a legend in the making and I'm not kidding.
She's a singer and a composer already.
She's so talented that its heart warming for a Madrasi like me to see the daughter of the legend to be gifted as much as or more than her father.

She lent her voice to this amazing number composed by Harris in Varanam Aayiram:

Her composition was for Kamal's last movie (Unnai Pol oruvan):

And this stage performance is a MUST WATCH:

Down here, "Jaanta Hai Mera Baap Kaun Hai" won't get you anywhere.

I Hate Luv Storys: Can't believe I wasted my precious 2 hours for this movie. Doesn't even deserve to be among the ratings.

But she is a disaster in acting dept where her father is one of the best in India. No sign of her father's talent and abilities.

One qtn, will you listen to that tamil rap after one year? I see no talent there also. This is where legends like Tamil musician Ilayaraja excels, even after decades you listens to his old composition, isnt it?

Now comes to singing - Yes with some polishing she can become a good singer. But it requires lots of hard work.

I thought of watching 'I Hate Luv Storys' this weekend - thanks guys for saving my money and time.

Gulal is an excellent moive. One of the best in the recent times.

BTW, i recently discovered, Raja Chaudhary (infamous from BIGG BOSS) is a writer as well. And, Gulal's story was penned down by him. He wrote "No Smoking" too.

Watched "Waiting Room" on ZOOM yesterday.
The movie was gripping and had a suspense.
Its a story about 4 people (a couple, a guy and a a girl) struck on rainy night in a railways waiting room with a serial killer/rapist at large.
Everyone in the room suspects each other.

The movie was shot near kerala in 14 days.

Movie is based on actual experience by the director.

Its a good watch.

Rating 3.5/5

I dont agree about "Janta Hai mera baap kaun hai" wont getting you anywhere. Moreover, with someone having a father like Kamal Hassan. Such lineage always paves way for people irrespective of they have talent or not especially in our country.

I am commenting about Shruti Hassan based on my experience of seeing her acting in "Luck". I felt it sucked

Anyways, lets see how she fares in future movies. Till then my opinion on her acting skills remain
