Watched G.I Joe last weekend.
Not so great and not so bad either. Most of the scenes seem like you are watching a video game!
would rate the movie 2.5/5

How about also making a good list of comedies that can be either laugh a riot or feel good comedies.

Some of my favorite being :-

1. Odd Couple 2
2. My Cousin Vinny
3. School of Rock
4. Meet the Parents
5. Analyze This
6. Wag the Dog

Let's keep adding this list as well
I found 'Meet the Fokkers' better than its prelude 'Meet the parents'. 'My Cousin Vinny' is simply great! Gotta see the rest.

Heard The Pacific is coming out in 2010 from the same producers, looking forward for it.

True - it's one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. And the comedy is preserved in the subtitling. I have seen this movie atleast 5-6 times.
Where did you get the DVD - is it available in India - I would buy in a flash if I could get a DVD with sub-titling.

There are some other movies by the same director.
- Closet - decent movie, not as good as Dinner Game, though.
- La Cage Aux Folle (or something like that) - it was remade as Birdcage in English - I didn't like Birdcage much & haven't seen the French original.
- And another recent movie, The Valet, which was copied in Hindi as Do Knot Disturb

From my original list, "What about Bob" with Bill Murray was the inspiration for Deewana Mastana in Hindi.

I saw " The Dinner Game" which was screened in Hyderabad about 7-8 years ago by invite pass during an International Film Festival. That screening was also seen by Shabana Azmi, Shyam Benegal and Kanwaljeet Singh.

You wont beileve, I never seen a movie where everyone in theatre is howling with laughter and after it got completed, everyone stood up and gave it a standing ovation.

That movie was on my mind ever since and i picked up this DVD ( English Subtitles) from one of my trip to the US. I saw it 4-5 times at home and then suddenly it does not play now for some strange reason ( in the same DVD player). It's brand new and completely scratchless. God knows what went wrong

WW2 Movies

Gwad!!! i have seen all movies which you guys have mentioned in last few posts!!! And continue searching for more :-) I watched "The Tuskegee Airmen" last night. A Must Watch. The story is about the first "Colored Men" recruited as US Air force Pilots. Racism is evident, and they never gave-up. Read a little about Tuskegee Airmen Tuskegee Airmen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Before you watch the movie.

Saw following movies

GI Joe - The Rise OF Cobra

The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)-gijoe.jpg

The movie is full of action which is often mindless and as pulsar56 mentioned it feels as if one if watching a video game. The action, cinematography is good but the storyline seems weak. Sienna Miller looked nice.
You will like it if you like sci-fi action movies.

2.5/5

Wanted

Yet another mindless movie made attractive by a good star cast & some nice nice camera work. Some stunts/shots would leave behind Mithun & Rajnikant's stunts. Jolie looks old, whoever thought of the group's name must be totally out of ideas. The only good part were some trick gun shots & the training scenes.

2/5

Don't enjoy war or war related movies, usually.
However Stalag 17 was really good - don't know if it's already mentioned in this thread - it's an old B/W movie - it's about a POW camp.

I did like Born on the 4th of July, which starts of as a war movie,
but ends up as an anti-war movie.

Watched Cross of Iron yesterday. Must say it's one of the best war movies I've ever seen. Only issue was that the DVD I got didn't had subtitles and it's difficult to understand few of the dialogues. And some dialogs are in Russian too. BTW, this movie is not in German although the story is about a German unit at the Russian front.
Next in line is Where eagles dare, getting it delivered today.

Where Eagles Dare is an all time classic. But I did not like the Cross of Iron that much.
For a change from all these WWII masala movies, try watching Idi I smotri[ Idi i smotri (1985) ].

Another good war time movie is Zwartboek [ Zwartboek (2006)].

Add "Battle of Bulge" in the list. I am sure BigFlix has that. You can see how German Machines were much advanced and Innovative compared to Allies.

Thanks
