Watched "Milk" based on true story of a gay being elected to a public office in US in mid-70's.

Awesome depiction of problems these folks went through during those days when they were not so openly accepted. Fantastic acting by Sean Penn. This movie shows you fight till you win.

Must watch !!!

4.5/5

@Mobike,

Milk is a great movie! Fantastic acting!

Would recommend that one does not watch it with kids around.

After being recommended as a good movie, I downloaded Duel by Steven Speilberg last week. Right on cue, work pressure and I am yet to see it .

Recently watched quite a few WW II movies.
1. A bridge on the River Kwai. - A must see. It's about British POW's who were captured by the Japs and forced to build a bridge on the river Kwai with all the adverse circumstances.
2. Tora!Tora!Tora! - Another must see. It's about the story leading to Pearl Harbor.
3. Battle of Britain - Didn't liked it much. It's about the German air attack on Britain to cripple the Royal Air Force and how they repelled it.
4. Letters from Iwo Jima- Another must see. The film is in Japanese most of the time. And it tells the Japanese side of the story about the battle of Iwo Jima.
5. Flags of our Fathers - Another must see. This you can kind of call the American side of the story of the same battle at Iwo Jima. But here the plot is about the hoisting the flag by the marines on Mt. Suribuchi. The war is shown as flashbacks of the events that happened.
6. Schindler's list : Do I need to tell anything about this movie? A must watch.
7. Patton - Story of General Patton, his rise and fall during the WW II. Another good watch.
8. Downfall - This is a German movie about the last few days of the third reich. A must see and gives some good insight on Hitler.

Also have watched the following movies in recent past...
9. A bridge too far - This is about the happenings during the Operation Market Garden, an ambitious operation for landing Paratroopers on Germany and capture few strategic bridges.
10. The longest day - It's about D-day invasion and aftermaths. another must see for WWII buffs.
11. Guns of Navarone - A fictitious espionage operation to destroy the big guns at Navarone so that American Navy can take their ships to Greece. Another good watch.
12. From here to eternity - Not exactly a war movie but set in WWII time. Story of an American soldier Prewitt and his love story and his struggle under his new captain. A great watch.

About to see The Great Raid.

Just finished The Great Raid. Good movie, you may feel it bit slow initially but that's essential to build up the story. A definite watch.
Waiting for delivery of Cross of Iron or Where eagles dare. Another movie I wanted watch is "All is quite in the Western Front" but Bigflix doesn;t seem to have the movie:-(
Thanks all for the suggestions. Need to watch few of themm like Das Boot/Thin Red Line/Dirty Dozen etc. Others I've watched already(Platoon, Enemy at the gates etc).

Anyone have watched Saints and Soldiers? Seems to be a good movie, is it? This also not available at BigFlix.:-(

2. My Cousin Vinny
3. School of Rock
4. Meet the Parents
5. Analyze This
6. Wag the Dog

Let's keep adding this list as well
