The art of Racing in the rain - Hotstar

Watched this beautiful Dog movie on Saturday on Hotstar. The story is narrated by a dying golden retriever where it recollects it's life with a talented upcoming race driver. It is a slow movie yet fun to watch. The 2019 Ferrari 488 GTB and the 1957 Ferrari 250 TR shown in the movie are absolute drool-worthy. Being a dog lover myself, my eyes were moist while watching this movie with my daughter. Wonderful movie

I'll rate this 4/5

Flicka (2006), Flicka2(2010), Flicka3(2012) - Hotstar
Binged these three movie yesterday. All about a wild female Mustang who is caught for rodeo and equestrian events in one of the ranches in the West.

Among the three I liked Flicka better followed by Flicka 3 and Flicka 2. Flicka 2 was kind of boring as it was almost similar to the recent Black Beauty (2020) movie that I had watched. 3 of the 4 movies have similar kind of story-Black Wild Mustang, a ranch Girl, a Boy and another rich spoilt girl

If I had to rate, I'd rate Flicka (2006) 3.5/5, Flicka 2 (2010) 2.5/5 and
Flicka 3 (2012) 3/5

Overall avoidable in theaters.
Agree with the rating. Watched it this weekend, and was confused for a while as to what is the story the writers want to tell here?

Dinosaurs being manipulated/engineered to do our dirty work? Humans and Dinosaurs learn to co-exist? Locust swarms (tech in wrong hands)?

Not going into some more sub-plots as they would go into spoiler territory.

The original one had such a simple theme to grasp - you don’t meddle with nature. It will come back to bite you.

Lesser said about the action sequences, the better. Some were totally unnecessary and felt like the makers just wanted to put Dinosaurs in a Bond flick or the Bourne series.

The only good thing about this movie is the cast reuniting from the original.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

The Wall (2017)
Playing on: Amazon Prime
***/5

The movie is based on a true story however is not very thrilling. There is some action but the film is more psychological drama than action thriller. The film settles into a cat-and-mouse drama, where physical endurance and certain tactical skills matter, but so does brain work: figuring things out from few clues, making calculations and playing head games.

On a Side Note: Any YouTube Channel to follow which gives good summary of movies? I follow few like Patrick Willems & LFTS but they talk about the process and not the storyline.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

watched Spiderhead and Interceptor on Netflix in last two days. One executive produced by and one starring Chris Hemsworth. Both are equally outlandish plots, predictive and do not have any character development to connect and invest in. Decent timepass both of them. Interceptor is more unrealistic, actually laughably implausible plot, but slightly better action and screenplay.

I will give 2/5 to both.

Doctor Strange in the multiverse of madness is now available Disney Hotstar.

I could not catch it in the theater so planning to watch it over the weekend. I know the reviews were not so good, but I cannot miss a movie having Benedict in the lead role. He is one of my favorite actors from the current batch.

Dr Strange and The Multiverse of Madness:

Easy 3.5/5 from me.

Movie was good and did not feel like it was dragging at any point unlike Spidey's last movie.

The Man From Toronto:

Woody and Kevin. The movie had great potential but ultimately was just easily ignorable.

2/5.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Watched Dr Strange and the multiverse of madness and even for an avid Marvel fan like me, I've to say it's not among their great works (to me it doesn't even match upto its predecessor, the first Dr Strange movie). It has some moments, some good fights even, but storyline is confusing and incoherent really (by the way I have watched Wandavision). I even dozed off in the middle!

Not more than a 2/5 for me.

Marvel is a victim of its own success. It will take an extraordinary feat to top the Thanos saga highs.

Dr Strange and the Multiverse of Madness
Rating: 4/5

After a plethora of disappointments including Eternals, Shang Chi, & to an extent Spiderman No-Way Home, Dr. Strange was a breath of fresh air. Agreed it wasn't as good as The Avengers but still better considering the material that is being churned post Avengers-Endgame.

The entire story will make much better sense if you've seen WandaVision.

Doctor Strange and Multiverse of Madness

It's an entertaining movie. Probably the darkest in terms of Horror elements Marvel has ever made. Me and my nephew both had a blast watching it. Would have been more fun if I had seen it in a theatre but home theatre was good enough. People who have seen Wandavision can relate better to Wanda's motivation for doing what she did.

Rating - 4/5

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Watched "The Black crab" on Netflix. It is Swedish with dubbed over English. The story line is fairly predictable but is a decent watch.

It tells the story of a group of soldiers given an assignment which they have to carry out by delivering a package over a frozen lake 100 nautical miles or so. The movie instantly reminded me about the ongoing Ukraine Russia war with scenes of destroyed cities and all. An ok watch if you have nothing else to see.

2.5/5 stars

You guys should read The House of M comic series which came out in 2005 or so i think. Man, that was some dark stuff. At least the references in the movie felt dark enough unlike what they did to the World War Hulk storyline. Destroyed that epic story into a bunch of comedic pieces :(

Doctor Strange and Multiverse of Madness
Rating: 2/5

It was a yawn fest. A completely new character just randomly appears on the screen, directly in action. No context or any character building. Too many inconsistencies in the storyline(especially the fate of all the 'cameos') which ruined the buildup and hard work that went into the infinity saga. I feel MCU hit their peak with Endgame and viewers are not invested in/excited about the stories anymore. Post Endgame releases, I enjoyed only the Spiderman flick that too because of the fan service and nostalgia factor. It was filled with loopholes too.

Post the trauma of Eternals and ShangChi, hopes are pinned on Thor as Taika Waititi is involved and I loved Ragnarok.

P.S - The 2 stars are for Elizabeth Olsen and the visuals. Loved the glorious IMAX enhanced stream on my LG OLED

Justice League Flash Point Paradox - VUDU 5/5

One of the best, darkest and thrilling DC animated movies out there. It got an interesting plot and the voice cast did a stellar job.

It got a great animation which have a touch of anime style to it. Its violent and gory (PG-13).

I will consider this even above most of the DC feature films & series.

If you are a fan of comics, DC or animated movies, its worth a watch.

Agree. Seeing all the positive reviews, I was wondering if I was the only one who felt Spiderman was way better than this one.

Absolutely hated how Illuminati are relinquished to complete dumbos.

It had a few moments and that's all.

Anyways looking at Thor hype, I hope they are able to repeat the magic of Ragnarok.

Yep. This, and The Killing Joke are atypical animated features.
