Die Hard

Yup, you certainly read the name right! I know this movie came out ages ago... when Bruce Willis looked young, the actress playing his wife sported those old wacky hairstyles.. but it was only yesterday that i got to watch the movie.

Story deals with a bunch of slick European terrorists who hijack an office building to lay their hands on the wealth belonging to the company. Bruce Willis stars as a cop who gets pulled into the melee unknowingly, and tries to outwit the baddies.

Movie according to me deserves a 4 star for the main villian as well as the way the sarcasm is shown in how the media as well as the FBI deal with the situation at hand. Lots of action, with a very fit Bruce Willis to spice up the proceedings.

Bennyboy Rating : ****

Watched " School of Rock" last night and was i bowled over completely???

Jack Black who is a wannabe rock star loses position in a band he created and due to circumstances becomes a subsititue teacher in a prep school with the school management not knowing he is an impersonator.

What ensues is hilarious to the core, instead of subject classes, its rock history and each student is turned into a musician overnight and they give an outstanding stage performance in the end.

It is a MUST watch for rock lovers and is a beautiful blend of emotions and comedy. I certainly agree with Jassi, this will go into my collection.

P.S: i loved that scene where he teaches the school kid the guitar notes of "Smoke in the water" from Deep Purple

5/5

Sammy, i have with me a 3 in 1 DVD, which i borrowed from my relative. wifey also liked the movie a lot, which means we plan on watching the others from the series over the weekend.

As about being a movie buff.. i always was.. just that lack of time was a major hurdle. Havent been able to overcoem that hurdle now, but do manage to squeeze in some time these days.

Between, how does the series go? I reckon it is :
Die Hard
Die Hard 2
Die Hard with a Venegance (?)
Die Hard 3.

Is that correct?

Yeah,

Thats correct, though the last one is Die Hard 4.0 , the 3rd part is Die Hard With a Vengance.
I love 1,2 and 4. 3 is ok, so dont watch it as frequently as the other ones.

Another series which I dont get tired of is Kill Bill (1&2)
Recently converted my cousin into a Tatantino fan.

Hardcore action and mindblowing CG. The camera work is awesome. It is a bit lengthy at 2 hours 20 min though but not for a Transformers fan.
I give it 4/5
I would give this a 2.5/5.

I don't know but a couple of scenes felt like I was watching part 1. The scene where Optimus Prime is protected and Sam tries to reach him - was like watching the fight in a village in the desert from the 1st part.

Verdict
- I would give this a 2.5/5

Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen

Mindblowing. John Turturro is especially funny in his role, and Megan Fox... oh boy you gotta luuuurrrrv slow-mo!

Wish they had more screen-time for the Corvette Centennial though.

4/5

Saw 2 movies back to back last night.

1. Last Chance Harvey (2008)
* Dustin Hoffman, Emma Thompson
Its a story about Harvey Shine (Hoffman) who is invited to his daughter's wedding in London. He's had a rough time this whole week with an uncertain job, being sidelined by his own family & last but not least missing his flight back to NY. At the airport bar, he stumbles upon Kate Walker (Thompson). She a single woman staying with her mother, getting set up on boring dates by her friends, without finding any substance. From that bar their life takes a turn.

3.5/5

2. Nothing but the Truth (2008)
* Kate Beckinsale, Matt Dillon, Angela Bassett, David Schwimmer, Alan Alda

A political writer/columnist Rachael Armstrong (Kate) writes in a newspaper about the US President's ignorance of a CIA covert's investigation during commissioning air strikes on Venezuela, a South American Country. She then falls into trouble & is jailed for acting against National Security as they want her to reveal her source. She doesn't relent and even though she messes up her own life, she does not compromise on her integrity. A decent Political Drama.

3.5/5
