Casino Jack - A true story on lobbying, politics & corruption in Washington. If you love drama, this movie is for you. Kevin Spacey has acted superbly (as always), and so have most of the other characters in this movie.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. 4 / 5 stars.

All the money in the world: 4/5

Pretty gripping movie. Christopher Plummer steals the show. Others just add on.

I loved the movie, its locales and the old cars from that era. What I really admire is how the film was reshot (20 scenes) in order to edit Kevin Spacey out in less than a month!

It also shows what too much money does to the 2nd and 3rd generation unless they get sufficient parental attention to get some kind of purpose in life!

Oh now i remember that! Even more amazed with Christopher Plummer and the Director then.

His smug expressions during the last negotiating scene with his ex-daughter in law was just amazing.

And tragically, his grandson never really recovered from the trauma and ended in tragedy.

How's A Quiet Place & Ready Player One? Has anyone watched these movies? IMDB ratings are showing positive reviews. A Quiet Place: 8.2 & Ready Player One: 7.9. I am planning to watch them this weekend.

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Ready Player One was a good watch. Loaded with pop culture Had a blast and nearly stood up and pumped my fist in the air towards the end at a particularly geeky scene.

Watch if you are a fan of 80s music and video games. Otherwise most of it will seem irrelevant.

A Quiet Place: 4/5

Amazing! It just keeps you at the edge of your seat! Great directorial work by Krasniski (Jim Halpert from office) . Its a story of a family dealing with aliens in a isolated world. Emily Blunt is spot on and so are the kids.

A must watch in theater, as it will be hard to experience as 60% of the movie is with no sound.

P.S: Go in a theater where there is pin drop silence. My suggestion, go at odd show hours if you can. People in our theater were struggling to eat popcorn and not make the 'crunch' sound.

A Quiet Place

BHPian Fraz33r pointed out what I have to say. It should be watched in the theater where half the movie is silent. All have acted really well especially the kids. Not a typical horror movie and reminds you of the Aliens, War of the worlds.

And yes, someone with a popcorn can really spoil the movie as the first half is dead silent.

Rating - 4/5

I watched '8 Mile' featuring Eminem over the weekend.
I quite enjoyed the movie, that i like his music also helped. Worth a one time watch, for sure.

Watched Murder on the Orient Express

Based on Agatha Christie's Novel it stars the famous detective played mostly brilliantly by the director Kenneth Branagh. I say mostly as I felt he slipped out of the accent a few times but was in most of the time.

The story is interesting and as the name suggests revolves around a Murder that happens on a train (cant reveal anymore without spoilers).

There are some unanswered questions for me but i guess that's probably because it got dropped out from the book in the movie.

The film has its moments, some are brilliant, some slow and some could have been better but overall a good watch.

3/5

Re: The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)

Real Player One : 3.5 / 5

Nice graphics; steady flow between online and offline modes; a typical old-school rebel vs corporation (rebel wins of course) story-line. The 80s music and video games add a nice touch to the movie.

All the Money in the World : 2 / 5
Found it very boring - literally a waste of the excellent cast. Mark Wahlberg tries hard to do a good job but his side-role doesn't really do the honors for him. Give it a miss if you haven't seen it yet

Coco : 4 / 5
Beautiful graphics. Lovely touch of Mexican culture; the movie doesn't skip anything on the cultural beliefs; and provides an explanatory mode imbibed throughout the movie that works not only for kids but even for adults (who don't know/understand mexican folklore)

Watched "Rampage" last night.

Rock+The Wrecking Crew! What's not to like

Grab your popcorn and have fun. Don't take it seriously and it will allow you to have fun watching it.

Some really unexpected violent scenes involving humans and animals so might want to leave kids at home for this one.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Rating : 4/5

A Series of Unfortunate Events - It is a TV series that is also made as a movie. A story about 3 kids who lost everything in a fire including their parents. Due to this they are put up for adoption and move from one eccentric guardian to another. Jim Carrey plays the role of a Count Olaf whose only reason to keep the kids is to inherit the fortune their parents left them.

Watch the movie just for the visuals and the funny turn of tragic events. Don't pay much heed to logic. The dialogues of the smallest kid are funny , since she cannot talk her words are put as sub-titles

Meryl Streep plays another eccentric adoptive parent.

Watched A Quiet Place during the weekend.

Nice concept and good acting by the crew. Emily Blunt has more screen time than anyone else. The movie is not scary as such, but is a good thriller and doesn't have any dull phase. Though a theater experience is recommended, do keep in mind a bad crowd near you can totally spoil this movie for you. I had some loud people near me who felt they had to discuss the movie while the plot unraveled. Was pretty frustrating at times.

I second that! I went for Rampage with low expectations and man it was good as compared to other B-Action flicks. I am tired of the Super Hero Action and this was a welcome change.

The story also gelled well and they did put an effort to connect all the dots which typically leaves a lot of pot holes in a smashing movie. The third monster was v good. I will give this a good 4/5 due to new topic and Dwayne Johnson. He has come a long way and his presence on the Screen makes everything look polished.

If you are free and want to watch good action for 2 hrs; I would definitely recommend it!
