Sequel would be a different story. As one notices the end of red rackham's treasure book was discovering the treasure inside the globle present in the marlinspike hall, which was also shown in the movie.

I think they would incorporate the sea voyage part from Red Rackham. That one hasnt been done. Mostly it would be an amalgamation of one more stories. Hopefully, it will be Spielberg again!

Saw 'Pulp Fiction' recently and didn't get why this film is so hyped-up/held in high regard.
The violence is pretty tame (by comparison to other Tarantino flicks) and dialogues are pretty inane and wayward (no comparo to say, Get Shorty).

Or maybe it wasn't targeted at ppl like me.

I happened to read the script of Pulp Fiction before I watched the movie. I enjoyed it, it was funny, pacing was crisp, liked the characters.

He takes run off the mill scripts and puts in the tarantino mix, it really works. Sometimes I think he is over the top, just making stylish and loud movies but cant stop watching his movies.

Inglorious Bees farm scene was nice, so was the scene where things get messed up in the pub. The dialogues are witty and funny.

Didnt like Death Proof.

Warrior

A great sports movie on the lines of 'The Fighter'. A must watch for martial arts fans. Not boxing per se, but its MMA. Great drama, great story, great emotions, great fights. Popular faces would have made this even better. But still awesome performance by lead characters. At par with Rocky and Million Dollar Baby.

4.75/5. A little slow for me.

In Time (2011)

What would you do if your life is counted by time and not your age or money?

Run for it.....!!!

That's precisely what is 'In Time' is about. Cool concept, neat execution.

I had no expectation from this movie and i was a little bit surprised.

Its a pretty engaging movie with great star cast and a novel fiction story but script could have been little better. The direction could have been a little better for continuity.

The cars are absolute droolmaal. Think E-Type, 300SL Gullwing, challengers and awesome limos.

Justin Timberlake tries to act but doesn't succeed all the time. He was good in Social Network, not as much over here. Amanda is super hot and acts well. The chemistry is a little bit off between the two. Sometimes its passionate, sometimes not. The supporting star cast is superb too especially The timekeeper.

Watch it once for something new if you have nothing else to do.

3.5/5.

Harry Brown starring Michael Caine is a decent movie. Its about youth crimes in Britain and one man taking matters into his own hands when he cant take it anymore. The factual matters are debatable but I was bit surprised to find out that many of it is true even though film makers finally add masala, but then its not a documentary.

Be advised for bit of violence and gore.

A very spooky one and one of those low budget movies which are more than worth a watch!

I rate 'The man from Earth' as one of the top 10 movies I have seen in my lifetime.
There is a sharp divide in audience feedback due to the radical religious viewpoint this movie offers - go into imdb and take a look.

Watch "ANOTHER EARTH". You'll find it even better. I did.

I agree with you. I think I've discussed this film earlier in the thread somewhere.

Another film which I highly recommend is 'Spring, summer, fall, winter and spring'. Though this film is nothing like Man from Earth, it's one of those rare unconventional gems that you will be delighted to discover.

try jet li's "hero".
story's is convoluted, to say the least, but the presentation, and the sequences....art!

"The man from Earth" is one of those rare movies that makes you sit up and think. Even a couple of weeks after you viewed it.

Anyone seen "Falling Down" ?

If you are a Michael Douglas fan, this is a must. The story is ok, but MD is on the top of his game, absolutely fantastic to see him in this king of a different role.

Wow. A thread on movies and somehow I missed it! All 288 pages of it.
I don't know if this movie has been discussed before [highly unlikely that it hasn't been] but 'A Clockwork Orange' is one movie that is a must watch for the sheer craziness depicted in the movie. All the characters have a weird edge to them.
It's got plenty of explicit content though.

Man Stanley Kuberick is one of my favorites. And this movie is a classic. I initially watched it (and eyes wide shut) for their explicit content, but when I watched them again, I was just blown away by the subtleties of the story and the narrative.

Especially TCO is one of the best movies on Dystopia and Irony!! I love the depth of characterization, specially that of Alex'.

And of course Eyes Wide Shut! That feeling is to be felt!! Another classic example of how well a character could be "engineered" which does not happen now a days.
