Anybody here is a fan of "fallen"?
I saw it probably for the nth time y'day on TV.
I make it a point to catch it whenever I can.
Freaks the missus out, everytime. She's not been able to see it in its entirety ever.
The intro and ending for the movie - amazing!!!

Denzel washington really rocks this movie.
I find his works, and nicholas cage's, slightly offbeat, and totally of glued-to-the-screen level!

American History X

Was surprised to see very few mentions of this movie on this thread. As mentioned earlier, Ed Norton's acting is brilliant in this movie.
The movie revolves around the mental discomfort young white teens have towards the African American counterparts. Tremendous dialogues accompanied by very convincing acting/delivery. Very few movies will take you through different emotions (from anger to pity) like this one. May not appeal to a die-hard cynic (even though I am one, I appreciate good movies more). As you might have guessed, I loved the movie.

Rating: 4.5/5

I can't think of better acting by any actor in any movie I have ever seen.

I think the reason it's not mentioned much is because the DVD isn't available in India (as far as I know), though the movie has been shown on TV many times.

Saw this movie. It is a rather unknown movie but, a really interesting movie with a lot of twists and turns which are quite unexpected.

It's a good watch and the actress is very good looking:)

3/5

P.S: Next in line "Walking Tall" Starring Rock. Hope they send the right DVD this time atleast.

Saw "The Crow" starring "Brandon Lee". It was AWESOME. clap:

Brandon played the character perfectly. I would actually compare his performance to that of late Heath Ledger in "The Dark Knight". In fact, you will see many a similarities between the two movies, including the fact that both these movies were the last ones for the respective actors.

Its a brilliant watch, a MUST watch IMO.

Rating - 4/5

1 point deducted as The Crow was never shown riding a black bike. Would have TOTALLY and POSITIVELY KILLED IT.

stupid:

I saw the hindi version of Walking Tall way back when it was released in India. Needless to say, it was hilarious. The original IS much better.

Still if you like action, you will like it. Don't expect a gripping story and you will be satisfied.

Watched "Van Wilder" yesterday afternoon (not for the 1st time). Its probably the best college comedy ever, 2nd only to American Pie. Ryan Reynolds is brilliant as so is Kal Penn.

The movie has some unforgettable quotes, such as - (Van Wilder pushing the Indian exchange student "Taj Mahal" to go for a really hot girl named "Naomi") "Her name is Naomi. Thats .... I Moan .... backwards". :D

If you enjoyed American Pie, you will love this.

4 /5 clap:

Couple of good movies over the weekend.

1.Drive:
This is one of my mostest favouritest martial arts movies.
Mark dacascos, Unadulterated in this movie.
Really sad that this guy didnt become more mainstream.
Literally no-strings attached sequences, and the storyline's not to bad either, considering the day and age.

forever, 5/5

2. 5 days of war.

This is a take on the russian civil situation and CIS status.
Lot of big names, a good perspective on war, a nice story, but sort of like a hindi flick.
how?
Everything works out FINE in the end.

Not so in the first sequence, but after that, nothing bad happens "eventually" to all the good guys.

Rated 3/5

Saw this movie and I felt it was quite average. There was some action but, it was not quite convincing and Rock looked like a mere mortal and gets beaten up as well, which is not acceptable:D

The theme is also a lot like a bollywood masala movie

Otherwise, its a decent one-time watch.

2.5/5

P.S: Next in line is another action movie. "Urban Justice" starring Steven Seagal.

Guys, planning to watch "Lord of War" starring Nic Cage. Anyone seen it? Have heard great things about this movie.

Youre in for a proper treat.
This is an amazing movie, justifying/definitive of the word "amazing", in fact.:thumbs up:thumbs up
And dont forward the introductory casting reel.
Its hauntingly beautiful.
Its as good as some well made movies, in fact, the casting.

Its a delight to watch Nicolas Cage doing negative roles. Its a decent movie, i would give it a 3.5/5. But this thing what they show in the movie is for real, probably not in anywhere to our knowledge.

You should watch it. Recommended.:thumbs up

Watched The Lord Of The Rings Trilogy

The English Movies Thread (No Spoilers Please)-325pxringstrilogyposter.jpg

Had a marathon run over the weekend. Amazing movies, great effects, the story is an epic saga with lots of characters & lot of twists & turns.

I did find a few things weird missing in the movie which I believe is because of the adaptation. Still here are some of my doubts

- How does Gollum loose the ring after possessing it for so long? (I guess "The Hobbit" has that answer)

- How does Saruman the wizard looses battle so easily from the Treebeards/ents? Why does he looses his powers?

- If the ring controlled all the rings, why does the bearer suffers? Is it because the ring had it loyalty to Sauron? How exactly does the ring control others?

- Why did Sauron wait for 2500 years to have a battle for Middle Earth?

- The witch king dies a pretty lame death considering the fear people have of him.

Anyways overall, I enjoyed it thoroughly.

4.5/5

Didn't read your post, since I plan to watch the movies too. Did not find the book interesting at all, infact boring. As an exception, I hope the movies (extended version) are better.

Lord of war is based on this guy Viktor Bout - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Do watch the ENTIRE movie. Please do not miss any scene. Its totally worth it.
