Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring (south korea 2003)

saw it almost an year back - awesome movie by kim ki-duk about a buddhist monk's life, depicting vividly the various phases of his life. almost the whole movie is set on a floating monastery in the middle of a lake - ethereal atmosphere blended by superb photography.

watch it alone.

@Wolfheart, that's one heck of an amazing list of horror movies which also happens to be my favorite genre.

By the look of that lot, you seem to have covered even the sub-genres in this genre.

Great going:thumbs up

It is a brilliant movie based on Buddhist philosophy. I've already watched it thrice!

If it's the cinematography that you liked, I reccomend a Chinese film called "The Hero" starring Jet Li. One of the most artisitc and breathtaking visuals that I have seen.

After seeing your list, I can safely say that my list just fizzled out.;)

Watched "A Might Heart" starring Angelina Jolie and Irrfan Khan

This is the true story of US Journalist ( Daniel Pearl) who goes to Pakistan after 9/11 and is captured and beheaded due to some misunderstanding that he is a spy and not a real journalist.

Story is about his french wife (Jolie) who works feverishly to find her husband (Pearl).

A brilliant and gripping movie with a lot of hindi dialogues thrown in and is a good watch. Irfann Khan was so-so

However, what i didnt like was the almost rude behaviour (sometimes) Of AJ towards the people who are helping her find her husband

4/5

P.S: Next in line is "Takers" starring Matt Dillon and Paul Walker. Reviews please?

Saw "Buried" last week! In one word AWESOME!

Class acting + class direction + class storyline. Makes one think after the show is over.

Highly recommended.

PS: Wont reveal suspence by talking about the story etc. Watch it guys.

Watched this movie some time back. Loved it and the main guy carries the whole movie very well. Without spoiling anything, I would say that the ending might not be to everyone's tastes.

I saw "legion"(2010) last night, after a lot of pass-overs.
I missed a good flick , it seems.
Enjoyed the context of "who" wants the world destroyed.
It really plays with your visualization of white toga-ed angels with white wings, though.
But you'll want angels to look how they look in this, post watching.
Awesome sequences, especially towards the end.

I was suprised to find this movie quite good. It's a nice heist movie with quite a few interesting characters thrown in.

It's much better than many action movies that I have seen offlate.

Lot of hip-hop language (A'ight types) so you need to pay attention to get the dialogues straight.

Matt Dillion is good as usual.

Paul Walker looks like as in "F&F" in all other movies. Time to change his expression and that blank stare.

Some of the black stars in this movie did a lovely job.

Must watch for action movie lovers.

3.5/5

P.S: Next in line is "The Ninth Gate" starring Johnny Depp. Reviews please

The Ninth gate is a good old dark fantasy plot with a supernatural touch, its directed by Polanski and i would give it a 6/10.

Enjoy the popcorn too.

cheers

any recommendations for new south asian action movies? I want to see some Infernal Affiars style movie (You know with blue tint, dark urban glitz, tints everywhere). And I want it to have action and not be mindless. clap:

Seems like a good biking movie after a long time. Quality wise seems to be way better than the computerized flicks like Torque etc.

Why dont you check out Takers which i reviewed a few posts back. It's really a good action movie and is not mindless too.

Managed to watch RIO and Rango yesterday. Rio is a good movie with great visuals rate it 7/10 and rango is also watchable. 6/10 to it :)

Watched the following two:

The Tillman Story
, it a documentary about a American Footbal player who gave away a multimillion dollar contract to serve in Afganistan and Iraq and was killed in friendly fire, and the subsequent coverup by WHite house.

Fair Game, no not the one starring that Bimbo Cindy Crawford, but this one is based on true story of Valerie Plame. Starring Naomi Watts.

Both are highly recommended.

Battle of britain:one word-AWESOME!!
but you gotta be ww2 aware and michael caine fan.
you have to see him in this.
