If anyone liked Kung Fu Hustle, they should see a few other movies by the same actor Stephen Chow -

From Beijing with Love - A spoof of the Bond films
Shaolin Soccer - An funny comedy about Shaolin-train monks playing football.

Saw " Rockanrolla" the Guy Ritchie film. It was a disappointment.

The story telling pattern seems to be the same routine of different characters doing different things which in someway is linked together for a final culmination.

Dialogues ( strong point of a guy ritchie film) weren't funny at all and accent didnt seem too british enough to me

2/5

Vantage Point - English Virumaandi

Has anyone seen 'Vantage Point', am not sure it has renowned names but the movie was very good and interesting.

Story is, US President is visiting another country to sign a peace treaty (sort of) and a formal announcement is being done in front of a public gathering. When the US President gives his speech, he is being shot at and what happens thereafter is the story.

Now the story goes from the vision of about 10 people who are at the spot (police, tv, us president, a tourist, the killer etc) and everything gets interlinked together at the climax. Nice movie excellently done.

There was a movie by Kamalhasan in Tamil 'virumaandi' that tells the story from 3 persons' angles whereas 'Vantage Point' is from 10 different person's view.

^^ And the concept of Virumaandi was probably inspired by Kurosawa's Rashomon.

Vantage Point has received really good reviews from a lot of members here, including your truly. Good execution, and the way the narration from different people's perspectives have been woven together is excellent.

Truly worth a watch.

Had heard so many praises here about this one but was disappointed. I feel Aamir acted much better in Ghajjini as far as portraying emotions go.
Memento is a complex film whereas Ghajini was far more simpler film. But Aamir acting better is a questionable comment. I thought it was very pretentious (probably made for Indian audience)

I had seen all the Star Wars movies in theatres and am a fan of those movies. Recently I downloaded the entire series (6 episodes) and reconverted them into dvds including subtitles.

I see that I had in my earlier viewings failed to understand many dialogues properly (I am really bad at comprehending accented English). I am through upto episode V (The Empire Strikes Back) till now and it is a good experience all over again minus the big screen thrill.

.
Shooter : Mark Wahlberg. Wicked plot. The sniper shots are great/wicked. Similar story as V P. 4/5.

Never Back Down: Some nice street fights. Some moves are new. The story is silly though 3.5/5

I watched 'Munich' last weekend and i thoroughly enjoyed it. It's pretty intense movie and some of the sequences refuse to go out of your head even after the movie is over. Lot of violence but the movie all about that.

I saw this movie in the theatre and was very impressed. The distance shooting shots were amazing. Nice to see some sniper skills in this movie.
