Frailty (2001) : Bill Paxton, Matthew McConaughey

Fenton (Matthew) confesses to an FBI agent that his family (his father and brother) have been killing people in the name of God. Fenton says that in the eyes of his father and brother, they are destroying demons and its God's Angel who is guiding them on this battle of good vs evil.
Good acting, nice tight screenplay, brilliant acting by the kids as brothers. Ending was a bit of a letdown though.

80's sitcom 'Allo 'Allo!. Its a must watch too.
Awesome comedy, really loved it when it aired on Star Plus a decade or so back. I have all the seasons of this one, along with Big Bang Theory (any fans of Sheldon?) and 2 guys, a girl and the pizza place.

Saw these movies over the weekend:

Up in the Air: Nice, tight, witty movie with some genuinely intelligent and funny moments. Fast paced, though the story is quite predictable, the presentation is top notch. George Clooney is much the same, one knows what to expect of him. Both the ladies put in great performances though, specially the kid. 4/5

The Boondock Saints: Stylish movie based on a series of Vigilante killings in Boston. A bit gory, but well made and fast paced. Two brothers go on a killing spree, killing mafiosos and crime bosses in boston, all the while pursued by a wily detective played by Willem Dafoe. Watch it. 4/5

Fantastic Mr Fox: Caught it just to see what all the hype was all about. Suffice to say only the kids "might" like it. Else, totally forgettable movie. 1/5

Kid . How old are you anurag?

I found this movie just average and don't understand why this is up in the oscars.

Was in the mood for some sci fi yesterday.

1/ "The fifth element" -- Pathetic -- Could see only fifteen minutes
2/ "District 9" -- Did not like that one too. Switched off after half an hour.

Both the movies did not have enough entertainment quotient for my mood at that time. :(

Older than the kid, for sure hehe....

Was saying relative to the other characters though. I don't think this is Oscar material either. It is neither boring, nor weird, no special effects either (*snicker*). On a serious note, it is up for three oscars I think, including Best Actor and best Supporting actor. Shouldn't win any. Clooney? For that? Hell, no. Thought he was different and better in a Syriana, or Burn after reading even. Certainly not this.

Jacob's Ladder starring Tim Robbins. A post Vietnam soldier keeps having disturbing nightmares and hallucinations which blur the lines between reality and imagination. Tim Robbins plays the part to perfection. A very touchy ending.

Watched few movies over the weekend

I now pronounce you chuck and Larry - I like comedy so I rate it 3/5.
The Descent - Was good enough to put me to sleep. Same old story 1/5.
Beverly Hills Chihuahua - Good movie, Animation is bad at places, but over all, it's an awesome movie. Watched it twice. Rate it 4.5/5.
It's Complicated - Worth watching once. Rating it 3/5.

By the way, noone watched 2012? Wasn't able to find a single review in this thread. I had watched it when it was released, and didn't like it much. Rating - 2/5.

Some of the few movies that are on my all time favorites are

The last samurai
Seven Samurais
Kramer vs Kramer
The Sixth Sense
Signs
Gladiator
Rocky
Born to be wild
Love Story (1970)

There's a pretty long list that I am suddenly unable to recollect them.

Of the recent one's that I saw I liked Red cliff directed by John Woo. The back ground score is very good in this one.

Even i saw this movie on HBO the other day. I wouldnt go that far and say it was insane. But, it wasnt bad too.

The creatures were not the best looking characters but if you like this genre, it was entertaining in some pockets

Yeah! Tell me about it! I watched it on Home Theatre with my father and younger brother. Can you believe the level of embarrassment ?

I got " The End of Violence" delivered.

Looks like its a 70's movie which was nominated for some awards.

Anyone heard about it?
