Info needed for admission into Bangalore Engineering College.

Hi All,

Dont know wether this is relevant or irrelevant to TBHP. But saw the close interaction between the members hence just hope to get some info/help on this topic which is nothing less than a migrine for sometime.

My brother in law ( bitter part of my better half whom I got as dowry ) is going to pass his Diploma in Electronics from NTTF Orissa. This diploma is recognised only in Karnataka and Kerela. Now he wants to do his BE. AS he is a diploma holder so, ideally he should join as a lateral entry into the 3rd Sem of any engineering colleges. He wants to do his BE from Bangalore. But as he is a non karanataka student so he can not write CET for Karnataka and I got to know lateral entries are restricted only for CET candidate. I am not expecting him to clear any entrance exam and looking for a seat under management quota. But the problem here is he has to join from 1st year.

I heard there is another exam COMEDK for admission into the private engineering colleges which he can appear. But not sure lateral entry is possible in this case also.

Can some Bangy guys help me with some info on this. May be a college where they will allow him to join in 3rd sem. Guys any info will be of great help. Help me in getting rid of this headache.

Best Regards,
Sam_Boy

Sam boy,

You can directly approach most of the engineering colleges' management for a management seat. Just be careful of the "agents" that promise you a guaranteed admission and so on.

Yes, I approached couple of colleges directly.. They are telling some rates, I guess I need to negotiate ... But no one is agreeing for a admission into 3rd sem in mgmt quota. Thats the issue.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

I am in Bangalore for last 1 year, so dont know many people out here ..

I went to couple of colleges in whitefield, CMR-IT and MVJ college of engineering. Felt kinda good in the former one. Heard if you have good contacts then they lower the price a bit. Do you know about the CMR-IT college in Brookefield on the way to ITPL from Kundanahalli? If yes then kindly let me know how is it ...

Hi Sam,

I wonder if you have heard of a college called P.E.S.I.T? If you have not tried there, I would suggest you try there on preference. The rate maybe high but the college has a brand name. You could walk in to the office and ask for the concerned person to talk to. The management is very open and clear.

The only disadvantage is that it used to be stricter than the school I studied at!

Dude the next line cant stop you from laughing ...

I studied in Sathyabama in Chennai .. The ultimate jail ..

Tihar jail has more freedom compared to Sathyabama ...

Freedom ... whats the word stands for, I knew before I entered the
college and after I passed out from the college.

NB: Its my personal opinion.

Well, what happened to good old RVCE? Some of my friends from RV compared their college to school. Things probably changed after Mr. Holla left (or is he still around?).

Good old college days ... now I'm getting nostalgic.

Ramaiah rocks like Hellwrat said:-)

But the main problem is too many brokers around that place. Better try a direct approach in this place. Freedom wise this place is good. Its now a deemed university. Something to do with exams being conducted by college and the degree from VTU.
