How about this little bit of cognitive dissonance?

On another note - Numberdar / Lumbardar is an old fashioned feudal sort of title in North India and Pakistan, for a local landowner who served as a sort of civilian police official and tax collector for his village if I remember right. But is that still an existing role after the British left?
