There are plenty of cheap fakes floating around especially in Flipkart, Snapdeal, eBay and other online retailers. These are supposedly re-bottled and the original packaging is missing. The vendors conveniently sell it as authentic testers so beware!

Is everything available on these sites fake ? How do you tell a fake from a original ? What's the best place to purchase from in Mumbai (online/offline)
Recently got myself Bogart Pour Homme. Really strong and lasts really long, although musk scent may not be to everyone's taste.

Gannu, Of the one's you posted I also use the above 3 and exhausted Ferrari Black and White Musk. :D |
White Musk is really cheap and has a soothing pleasant fragrance. I must buy a bottle sometime later.
I am not sure if it is just me but fragrances sometimes have a nostalgia associated with it. Like a past relationship, a place we had been to etc. I cannot (and will not) touch Dunhill Desire Blue anymore due to one of those reasons!

Cannot say for sure. Check the user reviews and the pricing. Most sites have a return policy so return them back and they’d refund the money or issue a credit note for a later purchase.

Common sense (regarding pricing) and your sense of smell (olfactory perception) is the best judgment IMO. :)
- Authentic bottles have a proper box pack with the importer’s sticker (refer my previous post) and a sealed polywrap.
- The solution inside the bottle is clear without any debris floating around - rebottled ones usually have these.
- Longevity of the fragrance - most fakes do not last beyond an hour or so. They smell the same but do not last long.
- The base notes (which come up after an hour of application) are completely different - sometimes becomes a nose irritant!

Duty free shops in the domestic arrival/international departure (international departure accepts only USD the last time I checked but pricing was good) and lifestyle, pantaloons, Marks & Spencer outlets.
Got a triple delight recently
1) Calvin Klein One Shock for men
2) Ungaro III
3) Azzaro Chrome
I would rate these in the very same order. CK One shock men has gotten compliments every time I've used it- good longevity.
Ungaro announces your 'masculinity' in a very nice way and Azzaro chrome is more of a daily wear scent- very nice though.
next eyes on- Bvlgari Aqua and Burberry London for men
Before: Elpasso, blue, UDV
Now:
Davidoff cool water for me
Davidoff cool water deo for Mrs.
Pramod
1) Hermes - terre d'hermes - primavera of my collection
2) Aigner Black - mostly in winter
3) Chanel - Homme - anytime
4) Lanvin - strongly sensual
5) Clinique " Happy" - during spring and summer
6) Hugo Boss - original green deo can - most lasting, unbeatable, using for last 5 yrs
Discontinued production rare - "woods" cologne by abercrombie and fitch. Wish I could get a bottle of this.
Other used and not repeated
Aqua di gio, davidoff cool water, versace, hugo bross silver, tommy hilfiger
1. Davidoff - Cool Water - for office functions
2. Nike Cool Wind 150 - for informal gatherings as well as for normal office days
3. UDV Fun - for all other occasions.
Has anyone purchased from Velji or "So Exclusive Perfumes" - Crawford market Mumbai.
I am being told they sell genuine stuff especially Velji.
Never thought i would see this topic. Well here's what i have been using from past 4 years :
--> Tommy 10 [Monday]
---> Davidoff Cool Water ( most popular and common i think) [Tuesday]
----> Versace Versus Blue Jeans [Wednesday]
-----> BOSS in motion [Thursday]
------> Lacoste Essential [Friday]
-------> Paco Robanne One Million [Saturday]
Its has become a habit as of now. Usually buy the 150ml and change the days once the bottles get over :P
Would Suggest Tommy 10 to people who prefer a mild refreshing aroma, it does lighten up the Monday Blues. :thumbs up

ITC Wills store stocks some good deodorants & perfumes.
Got a pair for me & wife. Deos are priced at Rs. 450 or 475 and perfumes at some Rs. 2,200. Smell is mild & soothing, we both seem to like it.
My collection -
Ferrari Red - Mild - Did not find it to be long lasting.
CK one summer - Strong - Lasts for 4 to 6 hours.
Nautica Voyage - Mild - Lasts for a long time
DKNY Men - Sporty - Lasts for a long time.
Next on radar -
Paco Rabbane 1 Million Intense. Tried this in a mall few days back and found it to be too good.
Carolina Herrera 212 Men or Glam or Summer.
Daily use - Adidas IceDive or Brut by Faberge. Had used a Jacques Bogart Pour Homme, didn't like it much.
Weekends - Nautica or Aqua Di Gio by Giorgio Armani.
All-time favorite is Polo Ralph Lauren Blue Label, followed by Black Label.
Daily Use - Rasasi - Blue
Ocassionally - Alive Emotion Night Black
Special Occasions - CK - Euphoria.
But my all time favourite even though its not a Men's perfume is Jaipur Boucheron!
Marks & Spencer Blue Energy at all times. :)
I've only ever used M&S and Jacques Bogart. M&S only because some folks kept on gifting me the same damn perfume, I didn't like it because it didn't stay beyond 2-3 hours. However, this Jacques Bogart's Silver Scent is amazing woody perfume, stay on even after I've washed my clothes, what a perfume!
